About our SchoolCarlton Bolling College is a larger than average mixed
comprehensive school for almost 1500 students aged 11-18
We are a vibrant, forward-thinking learning community, located near the centre of Bradford, West Yorkshire. The area is recognised as having significant socio-economic deprivation.
About our School• Proud of our students and our unique identity,
we boast a truly multi-cultural staff and student population. Over 94% of students are of an ethnic minority heritage, with approximately two thirds being of Pakistani heritage.
• A small minority of students are at the early stages of learning English as an additional language and consequently literacy skills are undeveloped according to the national average.
• The proportion of students who have special educational needs is above twice the national average.
Achievement for All – Our Successes• The college’s approach is emphasised in our main
aim of ‘Achievement for All’. (Major emphasis on inclusion).
• We encourage every student to achieve their best, and promote excellence by constantly seeking ways to improve our performance.
• Our GCSE results have improved twice the national rate of improvement for the last 2 years and our Post-16 provision was deemed to be the most improved Sixth form provision in Bradford last year. (Vocational strength)
