Younger kids get a lot of math experience in the kitchen whilemeasuring and doing fractions. They learn safety and how to properlyhold a knife or use a standing mixer. You can teach them food safety,

cleaning up as they go, and how to avoid cross­contamination.

Older kids learn skills for later in life when they go out on their ownand need to feed themselves. They learn self­confidence, and the joy

that can come from providing a treat or meal for someone else.
