Hello Fellow Lot Owners!!
It’s crazy how fast this “summer” has gone by! That being said, we still have lots of opportunity to get
out and enjoy as it doesn’t officially end until September 23. I know it seems like we haven’t had the
greatest weather this year (or maybe it’s just me) but I have sure enjoyed every minute of my time out
at the resort. I feel very lucky to have all the activities Carefree has throughout the season. This year I
was able to participate in quite a few of the events such as the Thrillbillies, The Al Barrett Band, and of
course the Kiss Tribute Band— the IKONS!!
We had some great events last weekend such as the Wood Sign Event. I was browsing through the
pictures on Facebook, if you have a chance you should take a look. There are some very creative peo-
ple in our resort and the signs looked amazing. I wonder how much I would have to pay them to create
a sign for me? Also, the Horseshoe Tournament took place on the newly re-done horseshoe pits. I
think they look great, and a big thanks to Don and his team for the work on those. Congratulations to
the winners of the Tournament!!
Some great events are coming up this weekend; of course the ever popular Bingo on Friday night.
Come out and try your luck and if you aren’t getting your numbers called, you can always use your
Bingo dauber to daub your neighbour sitting next to you. Note: make sure you know the person sitting
next to you if you try this. (trust me from personal experience - not everyone thinks it’s funny.) The
scavenger hunt, originally set to take place on the long weekend, has been moved to Saturday @
10:00 a.m.; be sure to bring your camera or phone with camera. Kids Karaoke will follow from 3:00-
5:00 p.m. and then us adults get our turn from 9:00 p.m. -12:30 a.m. I attended this last year and had
a blast. I also want to apologize to everyone that had to hear me and I yes, I know, I sounded like a
distressed cat. The 2019 Carefree Cruzin’ Car Show goes from 11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Come check out all the sweet rides or register yours.
As this is my last newsletter of the year. I just want to thank all the volunteers, and Don and his team,
that make this resort as great as it is. I realize it’s a lot of hard work, but we appreciate you!
In closing, be safe, watch out for each other and all the kids, and have fun.

Food Bank Donations!!
Summer is winding down and before long we will all be
packing up our trailers for another year.
Instead of hauling all that unused food back
home... why not donate it to a good cause? A
Donation Bin for the Calgary Food Bank will
be in the office from the last week of August
until the Thanksgiving weekend. All non-
perishable food items are welcome!
Did You Know…. The proceeds from the recycled
bottles and cans that owners and
guests leave at garbage row
goes to the Kids’ Fund to provide
activities for our children.

THANK YO REMEMBER… The marina is for members and their own watercrafts only.
The watercraft must be registered with the marina society and
the trailer must have the membership number sticker and the year “19” stick-
er on the tongue of the trailer in order to launch. It isn’t fair to the members
who pay dues each year for the operation and upkeep of the marina, if non-
members use the marina to launch.
NOT A MARINA REGULATION, NOT A MARINA BY-LAW
JUST COMMON SENSE!!!!!
While at Carefree Resort it is understood that if you have a dog and that dog poops, you will pick it up. This
also applies to all who go down to the marina. Nothing is more disgusting than stepping in a pile of poop. It
shouldn’t have to be a written law and it shouldn’t be necessary to put up signs. It is just com-
mon sense and being a good neighbor. As well, please dispose of your bag of poop in the
garbage cans NOT the recycle cans. It is even more disgusting for the people to have to sort
through the recycle cans if they have to pick out the poop and other garbage that seem to
make their way inside.
Don’t forget… your dog must be on a leash at all times!

THANK YOU
Thanks to all my friends in the park for your donations of
Bottles and Cans all this season. As you know, the money
goes to the Food Bank to support Seniors and Children to
have a nice Christmas in Bucerias, Mexico. These kids
deserve a chance at a nice Christmas. Anyone in the
park that would like to help me over the end of the sea-
son, please text me your lot number and I can do a pickup
at your lot every Monday.

Ticket #0048308 was the unclaimed ticket for the
firepit at the Horseshoe tournament last weekend.
NOTICE TO LOT OWNERS
The cost of emptying our
orange Waste-Co bin gar-
bage has gone up $100.00
per bin due to non-
household material going
into the bins. We are now
classified as industrial gar-
bage, not residential. This
will equal to an $8,000 to
$10,000 increase per year
in our garbage costs.
