Certificates Pan Am Career Pilot Academy is Federal Aviation Regulation Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 141 approved flight school under FAA Air Agency Certificate Number OFPS732K. The Academy is authorized to process Form I-20’s for the issuance of the M-1 Visa which allows non-immigrant students to participate in the Academy’s training programs. In the U.S. General Aviation, pilot training falls under 2 parts – Part 61 and Part 141. The main difference is the requirement for minimum flight hours to obtain Private Pilot and Commercial Pilot Certificates.

Part 141 schools are audited frequently by the FAA to review the required detailed Training Course Outlines and specific student pass rates. Flight schools operating under Part 61 do not have the same accountability requirements by the FAA. More information can be found at the FAA Regulations webpage (faa.gov/regulations_policies/faa_regulations/).

Airport Kissimmee Gateway Airport is located in Osceola County where we have predominately sunny skies and low winds suitable for flight training. The Class “D” Airport has an operational control tower on airport property and 2 asphalt paved runways (5,001 x 150 ft. and 6,001 x 100 ft.). Numerous flight practice areas are available outside the traffic environment of Orlando International Airport.

Part 61Pan Am

(Part 141)• Minimum hours required before Commercial Pilot Certificate Check-ride: 250 flight hours

• Minimum hours required before Commercial Pilot Certificate Check-ride: 153.0 flight hours

Pilot Shop Our on-site Pilot Shop offers training materials, student uniforms, as well as wide variety of gift items. Items may be purchased from student’s account balance, with credit card or by cash.

Aircraft, Simulator, Instructors Our Single-engine fleet includes Cessna C172R Skyhawk G1000, the Beechcraft A36 Bonanza, and* Piper Cadet/

Warrior III. The Beechcraft Duchess is used for Multi-engine training. We also utilize a Redbird MCX for our Flight Training Device. The Academy’s goal is to keep a 1 aircraft per 4 to 5 student ratio, and a 1 instructor per 4 student ratio. *Piper Pa28 fleet being phased out to transition to Cessna C172 G1000 equipped fleet.

TUITION / PAYMENT The tuition cost is based on the Training Course Outline (TCO) and the hours it takes a student to go through the program

and is subject to change. Some Part 61 flight schools appear to be cheaper because they base their price from the FAA minimum required hours. For example, some schools only allot 40 hours of flight training for a Private Pilot Certificate when the national average is much higher. Students will end up paying more if he/she overflies the FAA minimum. We base our price on more realistic figures on what it takes for a student to obtain a certificate or rating.

Tuition Policy The tuition payment consists of a deposit prior to arrival at the Academy and a monthly payment throughout the duration of

the program. Please contact our sales representative at [email protected] for more details.

Reentry Policy If a withdrawn student’s previous enrollment resulted in an unpaid balance, the outstanding balance must be paid in full

prior to reentry. Students wishing to reenter the pilot training program must meet all requirements of a new student and be approved by the Academy management after a full review of training records including conduct and ability.

Payment Methods Pan Am Academy accepts: Cashier’s check, money order, wire transfers, major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, etc.).

If the student does not return from PTO period, or notify the Academy within 5 days, the student will be dismissed and the Academy will proceed with the refund procedures.

Any student who is not on an approved PTO and has not received prior approval for absence will be considered inactive. Students who are inactive for a maximum of 14 consecutive business days will be dismissed and the Academy will proceed with the refund procedures. Additionally, unapproved PTO may cause cancellation of the student’s visa and require immediate dismissal from the Academy.

Course Completion Break There will be a break at the completion of each course of training.
