Your professional materials MUST clearly present your focus on a distinct professional identity

Add branding titles at the top of your resume, to the title of your LinkedIn profile, your letters, and your job search/networking card

Present skills, strengths, accomplishments, assignments, projects, etc. that support your branding titles

You MUST ENGAGE IN CONSISTENT NETWORKING.

As you’re navigating your day, engage others in friendly conversation. When asked, “How are you?” or “What have you been doing?” answer the question with honesty and positivity.

Speak in the present: “I’m excited to be pursuing a role as a development specialist…”

Networking is everywhere! If you are in a room with 2 or more people, you are networking.

Start small, gain confidence and then branch out!

Use a variety of resources to promote your brand.

LinkedIn: Use strong branding titles. Add specialty skills, projects and professional development.

Refocus your Facebook profile to promote your brand OR create a Facebook fan page.

Use Twitter to share ideas and resources that bring value to peers in your sector

Blogger and WordPress allow you to launch a blog to promote your brand and share ideas, resources, etc., to inform, inspire and motivate your peers.

Why not post a video on YouTube that presents helpful information in a creative, engaging format?
