CARE FOR VETERANS AND GROW YOUR CAREER DEBT-FREE

“This generous scholarship paid a majority share of my tuition. It also matched my regular income, allowing me to focus on school, work and other professional pursuits.”

— Isaac N. Womack, BSN, RN, VA Portland (Oregon) Health Care System

Choose VA for the Benefits

Through VANEEP, VA employees who are enrolled in school full time can receive a full salary and up to $41,160 toward the cost of higher education, including tuition, registration fees and books. The program provides tax-free scholarships and replacement-salary funding to accelerate the completion of a degree in an approved academic program for a Title 38 or hybrid Title 38 occupation.

VA employees in part- or full-time positions may apply. Scholarship candidates agree to serve in the VA career for which they trained for three years after program completion or licensure.

Eligible Applicants

Be pursuing first-time licensure for a clinical occupation.

Remain within credit limits of EISP (90 hours for undergraduate courses; 54 for graduate courses).

Be continuously employed by the Veterans Health Administration for at least one year before applying.

Be accepted in or enrolled in an approved academic program required for Title 38 and hybrid Title 38 occupations.

Be in a permanent position at the time of application and during participation in the program.

Maintain a 3.0 grade point average.
