cancer caused bycarbohydrates, sugars, whiteflour, and corn syrup

A new study published in the journalCancer Epidemiology, Mile Markers, andPrevention is presenting evidence of the

link between the consumption of refinedcarbohydrates and cancer. This case-controlled study looked at the dietaryhabits of over 1,800 women in Mexico, andfound that those who got 57% or more of

their total energy intake fromcarbohydrates showed a 220% higher riskof breast cancer than women with morebalanced diets.

This study shows that foods with highglycemic index values -- that is, foods thatmore quickly raise blood sugar levels in thehuman body -- actually accelerate the

growth ofcancer cells and tumors in thehuman body. Researchers involved with thestudy propose that the correlation betweenthe consumption ofrefined carbohydratesand breast cancer could be related to

elevated levels ofinsulin and the fact thatmany breast cancer tumors are encouragedand supported by high levels of insulin inthe body.

But many people in the general public stilldo not know that consuming refinedcarbohydrates causes cancer, and thus they

continue to drink soft drinks containinghigh-fructose corn syrup, they continue toeat breakfast cereals loaded with sugarsand corn syrup, and they continue to eatlarge amounts ofwhite flour in products

like pancakes, breads, pastries, cookies, and crackers, oblivious to the idea that theyare actually giving themselves cancer.

One of the easiest things a person can do toprevent cancer, based on this research, is toavoid all processed carbohydrates. That meanseliminating from your diet refined white flour,

refined white sugar, milled grains, andingredients like high-fructose corn syrup. Theseingredients are all man-made or artificiallyprocessed ingredients that are not normallyfound in nature. You don't find refined white

sugar growing in the sugar cane fields. You don'tsee white flour growing on wheat grass stalks inthe field. Instead, you see whole grains growingin nature, and it is these whole grains that shouldbe consumed by human beings if they wish to

attain a high degree of health.

Unfortunately, many low carb dieters, end up consuming other cancer-causing ingredients that are presentin many low carb foods. Thoseingredients can include sodiumnitrite, monosodium glutamate, and

artificial chemical sweeteners such asaspartame, also known asNutraSweet.

    As for the Aspartame

Diet drinks are a hoax. TheAspartame therein actually provokesa craving for carbohydrates which

then cause one to gain weight notlose it.

50% of Aspartame is made up ofPhenylalanine. In addition to thecarbohydrate craving, it producesmood swings, insomnia, aberrantbehavior, depression and PMS.

Fried and Baked CarbohydratesLinked To Cancer

Scientists have found a clue to thechemical reaction that causes potatochips, french fries and other fried andbaked starchy foods to build up highlevels of acrylamide a cancer-causing substance. Asparagine is a

naturally occurring amino acid that, when heated with natural sugars suchas glucose, forms the carcinogen.

    12/26

Many natural uncooked foods containenzymes proteins made up of amino acidsthat act as a catalyst and aid in the

metabolism of the food, so the body canuse it effectively. The higher thetemperature used to prepare a food, themore likely that the three dimensional

chemical structure of its enzymes willdenature and become inactive, ineffective,or a toxic, cancer-causing mutagen.

In 2002, Canada's governmentdiscovered the acrylamide /asparagine chemical reaction and

quickly ordered food manufacturersto look for ways to alter it and loweracrylamide levels in foods. Cincinnati-based manufacturer Procter &

Gamble Co. says that its scientistshave also found the asparagine /acrylamide connection.

The cancer is cause not by thenatural food, but by how the food isprocessed. It can be high in cocoa,

chocolate, coffee, smoked nuts, peanut butter, dried soups, pop corn, and cereals. Acrylamide was notfound in boiled or microwaved foods,

which are cooked at much lowertemperatures, often for shorterperiods of time.

Acrylamide is also used to produce plastics anddyes, and to purify drinking water. Althoughsmall traces of it are present in our drinkingwater and in foods packaged in plastic, no one

suspected such high levels of the cancer-causing agent in our basic foods.

Acrylamide consistently causes cancer in test

animals. Swedish scientists state that theknown levels of acrylamide in food may bedirectly responsible for many of cases of cancerin Sweden each year (and also in all countriesthat process their foods in a similar manner).

For now, reducing high glycemic indexcarbohydrates, especially those that arecooked at high temperatures, may be the mostprudent thing for health conscious consumers

to do. The prevalent method of frying orbaking with hydrogenated trans-fatty acidscombines to greatly increase the risk of bothcancer AND coronary heart disease. Microwavecooking (at lower temperatures for shorter

times) in glass (like Pyrex or Corningware),without saturated fat, or with polyunsaturatedfats, is a far superior solution to traditionalbaking and frying of high-carbohydrate foods.

The First Line of Defenseagainst Developing Cancer

  • 7/28/2019 Carbohydrates and Cancer

    19/26

Contary to popular belief, it is the CancerDetox System, not the immune system, that protects the cells of the body against

cancer-causing chemicals. Also contrary to popular belief, certain

chemicals manufactured within the humanbody, such as the oxygen radicals, free

radicals, and electrophiles, produce most, ifnot all, cancers in humans.

  • 7/28/2019 Carbohydrates and Cancer

    20/26

Toxic chemicals, such as those foundin cigarette smoke, the air youbreathe at home or in the workplace,

increase your risk of developingcancer by stimulating the productionof the radicals and the electrophileswithin the body. In reality, it is your

own body that determines when andif you will develop cancer in your lifetime.

  • 7/28/2019 Carbohydrates and Cancer

    21/26

Every minute of every day of your life, the cellsof your body manufacture these toxic cancer-causing chemicals. During the breakdown ofcarbohydrates and fats, the cells strip away

electrons that are converted into energythrough a series of enzymatic reactions knownas the Krebs Cycle. During the liberation ofenergy, these electrons attach to an oxygenmolecule and form a very toxic chemical calledsuperoxide. A deficiency of ATP in cells can also

produce superoxide. Superoxide, a highly toxic free radical, is a

normal end product of everyday metabolism.Other toxic radicals produced during every daynormal metabolism, include: hydrogen

peroxide, lipid peroxy radicals, epoxides andhydroxyl radicals.

  • 7/28/2019 Carbohydrates and Cancer

    22/26

Certain enzymes will attack and neutralizeonly a single toxic radical. For example, superoxide dismutase will detoxify onlysuperoxide, which it readily converts to

hydrogen peroxide. The enzyme catalasewill detoxify only the peroxide and convertit to water. Some of the peroxide maycombine with the mineral iron. This resultsin the production of a more toxic radical

called the hydroxyl radical, which is anelectrophile and can damage DNA orproteins and initiate the development of acancerous cell.

  • 7/28/2019 Carbohydrates and Cancer

    23/26

However vitamin C, backs up the Cancer DetoxSystem, and can convert the hydroxyl radicalinto a harmless substance.

The enzyme called glutathione is the mostversatile of all because it can literally detoxifyalmost every kind of toxic chemical.

Carotene plays an important role in support ofthe Cancer Detox System, by its ability to

detoxify a cancer-causing radical called singletoxygen.

Vitamin E exerts its protective effects againstcancer-causing chemicals by its ability todetoxify the toxic lipid peroxy radicals.

    Coconut flour cuts cancer

sapal(coconut meat usually thrown awayafter extraction of coconut milk) hassignificant level of dietary fiber that helps

control dreaded diseases like cancer, cardiovascular conditions, and diabetes.

DOST's FNRI confirmed in a study that

coconut flour contains significant level ofdietary fiber of 60.0+1.0 grams per 100-gram sample.
