The HTHS was established in 1975 as a secondary institution located in Kingston. The student population is currently 1400 and an academic staff of 100. Three clerical assistants are also employed to deal with students affairs. In this office, they are solely responsible for collecting student data, storing and retrieving records and data. Their data capture operation is also mainly paper based. With the use of this method of data capture a number of issues arise. These include the length of time to retrieve records.
