Capability Statement
Partners in your building success

Welcome
Keystone Architects is an experienced, full
service architectural practice based in
Maryborough, Queensland and serving the
Wide Bay and Burnett regions and
beyond. We regularly undertake projects in
Maryborough, Hervey Bay, Childers,
Bundaberg, Gympie, Cooroy, Kingaroy,
Murgon, Gayndah and Mundubbera and have
been as far afield as Agnes Water and
Theodore.
We have been operating here since 1990 and
have established a broad network of fruitful
working relationships with local authorities,
consulting engineers, surveyors, builders,
tradesmen and suppliers- in fact, the full team
necessary to execute any kind of building
project.
We hold all appropriate licences and
insurances and are prequalified to Level 3
with the Queensland State Government. This
means that we can, and do, undertake
projects worth a few thousand dollars up to
projects worth millions of dollars.
What do we do?
We provide traditional architectural services
and modern project management services,
working closely with all stakeholders and
authorities to achieve a compliant, cost
effective and operationally complete building
on behalf of our clients.
Our work is undertaken in structured stages,
the extent of our involvement depending on
where in the process we get on board and
how much assistance each of our clients
requires from us.
Our work is delivered electronically using
words and both two dimensional and three
dimensional images to describe how a
particular building outcome is to be achieved.
We work with qualified specialist consultants
such as structural, civil, hydraulic, acoustic
and fire engineers, to name just a few. Our
role is to obtain advice appropriate to each
project and ensure that it fully incorporated
into the design process. At times we even
collaborate with other architects.
“I have been extremely happy with the professionalism of Keystone Architects. We continue to have a great relationship after 16 years of extensive staged projects on both my sites”

Our Team
Marian Graham B Arch (Hons) FRAIA is the business founder and principal architect. Her many years of experience are at the core of our business systems. She was made a Fellow of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects in recognition of her services to architecture and the community. She enjoys the variety of work that comes with working in a regional area with every day bringing new challenges
Michael Dunn spent 8 years as a project manager on heritage projects in the middle east before joining us in 2018. He undertook the project management of the recently completed Story Bank for the Fraser Coast Regional Council. This project involved the restoration of a heritage listed bank building in very poor repair and its conversion to an interpretive centre and museum.
Flavia Sao Thiago Carvalho qualified as an architect n Brazil where she ran her own design studio for some years before becoming a project manager for the Brazil Olympic Games. She came to Australia to design and project manage the athlete’s village for the 2018 Commonwealth Games and has decided to stay. Flavia has a flare for design and an eye for detail, keeping our private school clients very happy with flexible and stylish solutions.
Stefan Verstraten, a student architect with the first degree under his belt joined us in 2017. He is bright, enthusiastic and capable. His revit skills enhance our clients’ abilities to visualise their projects. Stefan works on residential projects as well as commercial and education projects. Morgan Connell is a building design student in his second year of studies. The practical application of the regulations and codes he is learning about in his course is proving invaluable to him and to us.
Jeremy Baker, our senior architectural technician, has a Bachelor of Built Environment qualification and 22 years of industry experience. He joined the team in 2016. He brings his design experience and knowledge of materials together to produce practical and tasteful building solutions. Jeremy has lived on the Fraser Coast for many years
Jenny Monteith, our office manager, is essentially our clients' relationship manager, keeping track of paperwork, approvals and accounts. She is the one most likely to remember your birthday and to put the lotto entry in.
