MEMBERSHIP INFORMATIONProgram Membership (PRO) fees only include participation in selected programs. Our Facility Members enjoy $20 off per week of camp. Facility Memberships (MEM) allow full facility access and reduced rates on Y programs. For more information, please email Wendy at [email protected].

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCEFinancial assistance is available based on need and includes Traditional and Specialty Camps. Assistance is given on a first come, first served basis. To learn more, please contact Gretchen at [email protected] or call 678-880-3506.

NEW TRANSPORTATIONCherokee Y Camp in Woodstock conveniently offers transportationfor families who do not live close to the camp facility. We utilize a Cherokee County School Bus and driver to safely transport campers to camp destinations. There are three drop-off and pick-up locations. The fee is $25 a week for round trip service, due at the time of registration. The bus will have a Cherokee Y Camp Staff on board for supervision and to check-in and out of camp. We advise that you arrive 10 minutes early to each location. If you happen to miss your scheduled drop-off or pick-up location, simply notify our camp office and continue to the next scheduled location.

AGE GROUPS

This year, choose your camp based on the grade your child will be going into for the Fall of 2016. Rising Kindergarteners must be age 5 to attend full day camp. All campers will participate in Traditional Camp activities. If a camper is signed up for Specialty Camp, they will participate in the selected camp for 1 - 2 hours and also have fun in Traditional Camp activities.

Little Ninjas Camp: Grades K-1Campers will spend a week with our experienced martial arts instructor, learning the important qualities of respect, self-control and confidence. Our instructor will be at the Y 1-2 hours each day to teach various skills through martial arts drills designed for young children. Our curriculum specializes in the complete development of eight skills: focus, teamwork, control, balance, memory, discipline, fitness, and coordination.Sessions 5 & 7 • MEM: $188 PRO: $208

Little Jedi Camp: Grades K-1 & 2-3 Every camper wants to learn the art of becoming a Jedi. Join this exclusive group as they train with soft light sabers, accomplish Jedi agility courses, and master self control through Jedi mind strength. Little Princess Camp: Grades K-1 & 2-3 Join the Camp Royal Family as we create a week offairy tale fun. Jr. Cake Boss Camp: Grades K-1, 2-3 & 4-5Does your camper like to bake and decorate? Campers will spendtime at Cherokee Y Camp and prepare different baked goods eachday. Campers will learn the art of baking and decorating and ofcourse sample their own baked goods. Splash Camp: Grades K-1 & 2-3 This one week camp allows campers extra time at the pool. If your camper loves to swim and play in the water they will get an additional hour of pool time to fill that need for fun. Swim Camp: Grades K-1 & 2-3Two weeks of day camp and swim lessons! This camp teaches beginner/advanced beginner water safety and helps with overallswimming skills. Campers will participate in traditional camp gamesand activities, including a daily trip to the pool for free swim. Onehour swim lessons will be given to campers during a 2nd trip to thepool. Lessons will be given Monday-Thursday, and Friday will be amake-up day in the event of inclement weather. Campers willspend 2 hours each day making new friends and engagingin a fun outdoor activity they will enjoy for a lifetime.Campers will learn about different species of fish, tackle,bait, handling of fish, safety and rigging. The YMCA willprovide bait. Horseback Camp: Grades 2-3, 4-5 & 6-7If you love horses or even if you just want to try it out,this camp is for you! In this beginner’s horseback riding program, campers will learn all the basics of riding andhorsemanship including, how to groom, tack, and ride the horses. Campers will also learn barn safety, and the responsibility that goes along with taking care of ahorse. Our program teaches Western Style riding in oursand arena with the possible opportunity to go out on trailbased on experience. Every Friday, parents are invited outto watch the weekly Horse Show. Leather & Wood Camp: Grades 4-5 & 6-7 If your camper loves to work with their hands and makethings, this is the perfect class for them. Create and design your own walking stick, leather keychain and I.D.bracelet. Water Sports Camp: Grades 4-5, 6-7 & 8-10Lake Allatoona is perfect place for boating and watersports. Campers will enjoy a variety of water sports, including canoeing, kayaking and Stand Up Paddle Boarding. They will learn new skills and techniques through lessons, games, and challenges led by our experienced staff. Campers will get to go tubing, andwakeboarding or water skiing. Thank you to Marietta Marine for their on-going support and partnership, providing us with boats. Trailblazers Camp: Grades 6-7Trailblazers will enjoy adventures off camp property. They will be traveling all over centralGeorgia during field trips offered 3 times aweek. Locations may include Carters Lake, RedTop Mtn., our Overnight YMCA Camp, localparks, and more. There are no additional feesfor this camp and this is all about getting outfor an outdoor experience with friends andstaff. They learn all about the great outdooractivities and opportunities we have right inour own backyard. Sessions 1, 3-6, 8-9 MEM: $213 PRO: $233

Survivor Camp: Grades 6-7Campers will challenge themselves and advance their skills in outdoor living! Camperswill use teamwork as they go into the wilderness to take on new challenges. Activitiesinclude climbing tower, shelter building, fire-building, campsite set-up, low ropes, canoeing, Plant and Animal Identification,archery and more. Survivor campers will experience an overnight camp-out on Thursdayat our very own Survivor Camp on the YMCAproperty. Dinner will be provided by the YMCAand prepared by campers under the supervisionof the YMCA Staff. Breakfast and lunch is included the following day. Mountain Bike Camp: Grades 6-7If zipping down trails sounds like fun to you,then this is your perfect camp. Campers willlearn basic trail riding techniques, bicycle careand trail safety. Riders will explore the miles oftrails here on the YMCA property, use our exciting newly updated obstacle course andtravel to Blankets Creek Mountain Bike Course (if suitable) to improve skills on an actual mountain bike course. Mountain Bikes are provided by the YMCA with a fleet of Specialized Rockhopper Bikes. *Campers are required to bring a helmet and plenty of water.Campers are welcome to bring their own bike. Post Camp Swim Lessons

Post Camp Swim Lessons (2 week duration) are provided at 4 pm forcampers who are registered. Campersmust be signed up for the same twoweeks of camp as their swim lessons.Counselors will take the campers totheir swim lesson and bring them back to post-camp daily. Two week sessions, Monday-Thursday with amake up day on Friday if a class wascanceled due to inclement weather.Parents who choose to pick their childup directly from swim lessons must follow camp check out procedures.Campers who are registered for PostCamp Swim Lessons may still use bustransportation. These are beginner/advanced beginner level classes.

Construction Camp: Grades 4-5This camp is designed for the future Do It Yourself-er. ConstructionCampers will learn to identify different hand tools, and the propersafety procedures when using equipment. Construction camp gives campers valuable skills and confidence that will allow them to be more self-reliant in every aspect of their lives. No motorized tools willbe used during this camp. Basketball Skills Camp: Grades 2-3, 4-5 & 6-7Campers will participate in a variety of lessons and drills led by experienced basketball players. ADVANCED LEADERSHIP ACADEMY - TEEN CAMPS

Teen Leaders: Grades 8-10Our teens are our future and we believe that we must invest in them wisely. By investing in them, we feel that those who are interested and those who possess the skills will become leaders of camp and our community. Theentire Teen program is called A.L.A. (Advanced Leadership Academy). At the Y, there are different tracks for teens to choose from and become involved in the community, build leadership skills, make new friends, learn job related skills, and provide opportunities for teen development. Help your Teen pick what interests them most and set them on a path to build solid character values. The current programs can provide the tools to aid in making positive healthy decisions, while setting them up to be an Inspired Teen Leader.

W.I.T. (Wranglers In Training): Grades 8-10Learn more about our entire horse program and gain first-hand leadership experience at the same time. Thiscamp is designed for teens who want to learn more aboutriding, horsemanship, and leadership. Campers will focus on tack, feed, care, maintenance, equipment, safety and teamwork. This is a one week in-camp training on how tooperate the barn and share your love of horses with others.This program will assist with the flow of horse camp andwill have hands on training from our Barn Manager and Riding Instructor. If suitable, there will also be opportunities to go out on trail and learn the fundamentalsto a proper, safe, trail ride in large groups. If you lovehorses and you’re a looking expand your experience andyour skill set, than this is the perfect way to spend yourweek. All Sessions • MEM: $153 PRO: $173

L.I.T. (Leaders In Training): Grades 9-10Our YMCA staff is one of the best in the nation.If you are ready to start learning the skills youneed to become a member of our outstandingteam, this is your chance. LITs will shadow counselors, and learn the curriculums needed to run program areas. LITs undergo a written evaluation process designed to prepare themfor future staffing opportunities. Our LITs become impactful leaders who understand both servitude leadership and leadership by example. Over 2 weeks they engage in leadership development, problem-solving, taskmanagement, and group dynamics activities.These young leaders gain the experiences andtraining needed to take on more responsibilityin our community. LITs will be working withcamp and other local organizations to serve our community. The program ends with an opportunity to complete a community serviceproject. Along the way, our LITs enjoy traditional camp activities, forging life-longfriendships and earning meaningful communityservice hours. After completing the LIT program, teens will be invited to join the YLeaders Club at no cost and be involved at the Y all year long.Sessions 1-2, 3-4, 6-7 & 8-9 MEM: $296 PRO: $316

Teen Expedition: Grades 8-10Teen Expedition (Teen-X) is an immersive world-class adventure and leadership experience. This action packed camp starts with the basics: team-building, how to pack abackpack, outdoor cooking, climbing, canoeing,leave no trace and more. While on expedition,campers will gain confidence and creating lasting friendships and enjoying backpacking,rock climbing, and whitewater canoeing. Campers must able and willing to hike with abackpack for up to 2-4 miles per day. All food,entrance fees and basic gear is included. Teen-X is designed to make sure campers return home feeling accomplished, experienced,and ready to take on new challenges. Highly encouraged for campers who are consideringour L.I.T. program. Discovery Camp: Grades K-1This camp will experience daily rotations through sports, games,arts and crafts, team building and more! It offers a variety of opportunities that will help your child develop values, sportsmanship, life skills and friendships that will last a lifetime.

Explorers Camp: Grades 2-3Children in Explorers get to explore more challenging traditionalcamp activities while offering them a variety of new experiences. General camp activities may include skits and songs, arts and crafts,group games, environmental education, team building initiatives andcharacter development.

Pioneers Camp: Grades 4-5The Pioneers program offers a variety of experiences for ourcampers. This camp will experience daily rotations through sports,games, arts and crafts, team building, and more! It offers a varietyof opportunities that will help your child develop values, leadershipskills, sportsmanship, life skills and friendships that will last a lifetime.

Jr. Leaders Camp: Grades 6-7The Jr. Leaders camp will emphasize the role of maturing into a leader. Incorporating the YMCA Character Values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility is important for youth to not only learn but practice daily. Through these Character Valuesthey will participate in daily traditional camp activities as well as establish a good moral compass.

L.I.T. (Leaders In Training): Grades 9-10 This program is only offered at our Woodstock camp. Daily bus transportation from Canton is provided. Our YMCA staff is one of the best in the nation. If you are ready to start learning the skills you need to become a member of our outstandingteam, this is your chance. LITs shadow counselors, and learn the curriculums needed to run program areas. LITs undergo awritten evaluation process, and prepare themselves for future staffing opportunities. Our LITs become impactful leaders whounderstand both servitude leadership and leadership by example. Over 2 weeks, they engage in leadership development,problem-solving, task management, and group dynamic activities. These young leaders gain the experiences and trainingneeded to take on more responsibility in our community. LITs will be working with camp and other amazing organizations thatserve our local community. The program ends with an opportunity to complete a community service project. Along the way, ourLITs have tons of fun engaging in traditional camp activities, forging life-long friendships and earning meaningful communityservice hours. Splash Camp: Grades K-1, 2-3 & 4-5 A one week camp designed to let campers spend more time at thepool than the average camper. If your camper likes to swim and playin the water they will get an additional hour of time to fill that needof fun. This camp does not offer swim lessons but does allow yourcamper to have the extra free time at the pool they desire.Sessions: 2 - 9 • MEM: $158 PRO: $178

Swim Camp: Grades K-1, 2-3 & 4-5 Two weeks of day camp and swim lessons! This camp will teach youwater safety and help with overall swimming skills. Participate incamp games and activities, including 2 trips daily to the pool, onefor free swim and one for a 45 minute swim lesson. Lessons will begiven Monday-Thursday and Friday will be a makeup day in theevent of inclement weather or pool closings. Campers must sign up for two consecutive weeks.Sessions: 2 - 9 • MEM: $336 PRO: $376

Outdoor Adventure: Grades 4-5 Hit the great outdoors and learn skills that will make an outdoorcamper for life. Activities include: fire building, knot tying, shelterset up, plant identification, orienteering with maps and more! Each week there will be a mini Adventure Race/Scavenger Hunt on property as well as camping under the stars on Thursday night. Dinner will be provided by the YMCA and prepared by campers withassistance from YMCA Staff. There will also be extra swim time inthe evening with a lifeguard present. Breakfast and lunch is includedthe following day. Campers will test themselves with a week of funand adventure! A complete list of overnight camping supplies will be provided the week of camp. NEW TRANSPORTATION

New in 2016, we will offer bus transportation to our Woodstock Campfrom our Canton location each day. Camperdrop off in Canton is anytime between7:00 am and 7:30 am and afternoon pickup between 5:45 pm and 6:30 pm. The feefor the bus service is $25.00 per week andspace is limited. To use the bus service,you must sign up for the bus when youregister for camp at the Woodstock location.
