 2. The Wild’s Chief of Amateur Scouting, Guy Lapointe, will have his sweater number (#5) retired by Montreal Saturday. Lapointeplayed 16 NHL seasons (1968-84) and was a member of six Stanley Cup Championship teams with the Canadiens. He is in his 16thyear as Chief of Amateur Scouting after joining the Wild in September of 1999. He previously spent nine years (1990-99) with theCalgary Flames, serving as a scout for seven seasons and as an Assistant Coach for two seasons (1995-97). The four-time NHL All-Star was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1993. For more information on Lapointe, check page 27 of the Wild Media Guide(wild.com/mediaguide). 3. Darcy Kuemper has posted a 6-3-0 record this season with a 1.77 GAA, a .922 SV% and three shutouts. His three shutouts sharesthe NHL lead and is a career high, while he ranks fifth in the NHL in GAA. Including post-season, he is 16-4-2 with a 1.72 GAA and a.930 SV% at Xcel Energy Center. Per Elias Sports Bureau, he is just the second NHL goalie since 1967-68 to record three shutouts inhis first four games of a season (Leclaire, 2007-08). The 24-year-old has already set a franchise record this season: longest shutoutstreak by a Wild goaltender (163:46).  4. Mikko Koivu skated 20:45, had six shots, two hits and won 15-of-23 faceoffs (65.2%) in Thursday’s contest. Since Oct. 30, theCaptain has earned a 65.9 faceoff percentage (60-of-91) which ranks second in the NHL amongst all players with at least 30 totalfaceoffs. His 147 faceoff wins this season ranks seventh in the NHL while his overall faceoff percentage ranks 15th (55.9%). He tallied16 shots in his first eight games of the season while recording 25 shots in his last four contests. His 25 shots since Oct. 30 ranks first inthe NHL. 5. Thomas Vanek tied his season high of seven shots on goal in Thursday’s match. He scored his first goal of the season on Nov. 1 –the 114th power-play goal of his career. He shares the team lead with seven assists this season and ranks second on the team inpoints. The 30-year-old has scored at least 20 goals in each of his previous nine NHL seasons. Since entering the league in 2005-06,he ranks third in PPG, T-9th in goals and 13th in GWG. 6. Ryan Suter skated his third game of 30-plus minutes Thursday with 32:17 and has led all skaters – Wild and opponents – in TOI inall but one game this season. His three 30-plus minute games all rank within the top 10 single games in the NHL (second, fifth andsixth). The blue liner tallied his seventh assist on Tuesday and has five in his last seven games – his seven on the season ranks T-1ston the team. The alternate captain leads the NHL in TOI/game this season (29:16) and led the NHL for the second consecutive yearlast season with a total of 29:25, skating at least 30:00 in 37 games. He ranks T-2nd on the team in scoring, totaling eight points (1-7=8) and a plus-8 rating this season, including his 53rd career multi-point game (1-1=2) in the season opener. He ranks first in the NHLin TOI/game (26:07) and is seventh in scoring (35-215=250) amongst NHL defensemen since 2008-09.7. Seven of the Wild’s nine defensemen have tallied at least one point this season. In combination, Minnesota’s defensemen have 25points through 12 games (7-18=25), a plus-27 rating, 116 shots on net and 54 hits. 8. Minnesota plays its seventh game away from Saint Paul and is 2-4-0 on the season. The Wild posted a winning road record of 11-5-4during the second half of the 2013-14 season (1/7-4/7/14), improving to 17-17-7 away from Xcel Energy Center last year. Despite thefirst home loss of the season on Tuesday vs. Pittsburgh, Minnesota has outscored its opponents 22-10 to earn its 5-1-0 record at home. 9. Saturday, the Wild plays its third of five consecutive games against the Eastern Conference. Of Minnesota’s 14 games in November,eight are against the Eastern Conference. Minnesota is 2-3-0 in five games this season against the East. The Wild earned points in 21of its 32 games against the opposing conference last season. 10. The Wild has posted a 0.83 goals-per-game goal differential ranking third to Pittsburgh’s 1.83 and Tampa Bay’s 1.08. Minnesota’sfour goals on Nov. 1 marked the team’s fifth consecutive game of scoring four-plus goals, setting a franchise record of five straightgames with four-plus goals. 11. The Wild allowed just its fifth power-play goal in 12 games on Thursday. Entering play Friday, Minnesota ranks seventh in the NHLwith an 86.1 penalty kill percentage (31-for-36). The Wild recorded a season-high 26 hits on Thursday – 15 Wild players recorded atleast one hit in the contest. Minnesota also recorded a season-high 23 blocked shots Nov. 1 with 13 players recording at least oneblocked shot. 12. The Wild has scored at least one second-period goal in eight of its 12 games, totaling 17 on the season. Entering play Friday, the17 second-period goals rank T-2nd in the NHL. Mike Yeo was named the Minnesota Wild’s third Head Coach on June 17, 2011. He has led the Wild to the Stanley Cup Playoffs the last two seasonsafter a five-year absence. Minnesota has posted a record of 111-87-26 (.554) during his four seasons as Head Coach. Yeo, the youngest Head Coach inthe NHL, helped lead the Wild’s previous primary affiliate, the Houston Aeros, to a 46-28-1-5 record and the Calder Cup Final in his first season as aHead Coach in 2010-11. The Aeros led the Western Conference and ranked third in the AHL with 46 regular season wins after it did not qualify for theplayoffs in 2010. Yeo served as an Assistant Coach with the Pittsburgh Penguins (2005-10). During his tenure in Pittsburgh, the Penguins claimed the2007-08 Atlantic Division title, advanced to the Stanley Cup Finals twice and won the 2009 Stanley Cup championship.
