Little Acorns Young naturalists spend the summer exploring the outdoor areas of Brookline. Little Acorns have the opportunity to visit many of Brookline's parks and sanctuaries and unravel the mysteries of the natural world through hands-on exploration, stories, arts & crafts, nature walks, and games. Each day will focus on different local wildlife and their habitats. Nature Camp is designed to encourage children to discover, enjoy, and respect nature through personal experiences.

Three summer day camps are offered to children ages 5-6, 7-9 and 10-13. Each camp provides various activities and pre-established schedules where children can build confi dence, develop skills, make new friends, and have fun! Our camp gives children an experience that lasts a lifetime by providing challenging activities under the guidance of caring, well-trained staff members. Camp Kangaroo maintains a staff-camper ratio of 1:5; Camp Gator and Camp Express have staff-camper ratios of 1:10. These ratios allow counselors to build relationships and provide each child with the attention he or she needs. Children take part in arts and crafts, non-competitive sports and games, swimming three to four times a week, recreational play, and themed activities. Each camp will feature entertainment activities and fi eld trips.

Our oldest group of naturalists will expand their knowledge as they practice identifi cation, orienteering, and outdoor living skills. Excursions include hikes, canoeing and a camp-out. This program emphasizes hands-on, fi eld-based, experiential learning and aims to foster stewardship.

Sprouts This older group of naturalists explores Brookline, focusing on the native plant life and varied habitats found in our outdoor areas. Sprouts will visit many of Brookline's parks and sanctuaries, and discover plant growth cycle through hands-on exploration, stories, arts & crafts, nature walks, and games. Campers also participate in the maintenance and harvesting of our community garden. Each day features a different theme and new location for campers to enjoy. Nature Camp is designed to encourage children to discover, enjoy, and respect nature through personal experiences.

Junior Rangers At Junior Ranger camp, children experience nature-based learning in the outdoors as they work towards earning a Junior Ranger badge. Campers learn about nature and the environment through hands-on exploration, orienteering, arts & crafts, nature walks, and group activities. While visiting Brookline's extraordinary parks and sanctuaries, campers are introduced to many different environmental topics including wildlife, habitats, ecology, biodiversity, and conservation. Junior Ranger Camp provides young people with a unique learning experience while encouraging stewardship of our natural areas.
