Easter Volunteer Needed For The Flowering Cross Sometime during Lent a cross is placed near the corner of 23rd and Grant Street as stark representation of the season of Lent. On Easter Sunday the bare cross is replaced with one that holds flowers (which the congregation is invited to add to as they arrive for church). We are seeking a person (or group) willing to pick up flowers on Friday or Saturday and arrive no later than 7am on Easter Sunday morning to decorate the cross. Funds are available for the flowers, but we need someone to take on this important and very visible task. If you are interested, please contact Molly in the church office at 703-892-5185. Shoes for Honduras You Can Make a Difference! Calvary’s Family ministry is collecting good used shoes for Honduras and Art for Humanity (www.artforhumanity.org) right now! Please bring in your shoes for children and adults! Boxes are located in Harris Hall and in the back of the sanctuary. For more information on this important ministry to the poor, please visit the Art for Humanity website. Would you like to collect shoes at your workplace, school or with your group? We can arrange to sort and give the shoes you collect to Art for Humanity! Just contact Beth at [email protected] for more information! Easter Egg Hunt You Can Help Make This a Success! Please bring in (fillable) plastic Easter eggs and wrapped candy for our eggs hunts on Easter Sunday after the 8:30 and 11:00 worship! Save the Date! Churchwide Mission Trip in 2016 The week of July 4th has been designated CALVARY’S WEEK at SPY (Service Project Youth). We will be Making Our Mark this summer, and spend some time helping others.

30 Hour Famine A Great Success! Congratulations to Claudia and Grace Bryant and Sophie and Elyse Raymond for participating in the 30 Hour Famine (February 26-27). These

ladies fasted from food for 30 hours to help raise awareness of hunger around the world with youth and leaders

from 10 other local churches. During the famine they helped to package 15,000 meals through Outreach. These meals went to a shelter in Bailey's Corner who is dealing with an influx of refugee families. They also helped with Calvary's Parents' Afternoon Out and helped to pack a trailer headed to Honduras with Art for Humanity. Special thanks to Pastor Matthew for helping with the meal packaging as well and to Maggie Hasselbach for chaperoning for the whole event! For more information about the 30 Hour Famine or World Vision, speak to Kathy Harrington ([email protected]).
