U. game, I ran into Ray Parr, O. U.Sooner, waving a twenty dollar bill under "Aggie"Lloyd Benefield's nose . Ray had given Lloyd 59points and had just collected his bet and was hehappy or maybe it would be better to say, "WasLloyd unhappy?" I told Parr, who is a reporteron the Daily Oklahoman, that I thought that Mr.Gaylord, his publisher, had him on the wrongdesk, that where he should be was on sports, be-cause any man that could prophesy the score of73 to 12 for O. University A.W.S.-with original designs by University art studentsis an annual feature.

Continuing an emphasis on orientation, promo-tion of activities and scholarship, A.W.S . has putin student hands some functions which formerlywere performed by University officials .

Acclimating the freshman to college life is nowhandled by an A.W.S . committee. Th e orientationprogram has stressed the personal touch by seeingto it that each new co-ed has one upperclassman, her own co-ed counselor, interested in her welfare.A course in marriage relations for co-eds was

introduced and sponsored as an A.W.S . specialproject. This year University officials adopted thecourse as a regular part of the curriculum and it isnow offered to both men and women students.

Realizing that worthwhile extra-curricular ac-tivities are a vital part of college life, A.W.S. hasassumed the task of acquainting the new studentswith campus clubs and their aims . An annual Ac-tivities Festival with representative booths fromall organizations is held under the sponsorship ofthe association .

Voluntary service through A.W.S . to the Uni-versity and to all students comes under anothercommittee's supervision. Special activities duringthe war were carried out by the War Council. Thishas now been succeeded by the service group whichtakes charge of money-raising drives for worthynational funds and of student hospitality forcampus visitors .

Governing themselves through the Associationof Women Students is teaching O. U.'s co-eds tobecome active citizens of the University-and ofthe nation .
