Call For Back Up

You are trained to check your SCBA at the beginning of your shift, you take it upon yourself to eat healthy and exercise, you train together as an engine company to produce the best out-come on a call and you wouldn’t hesitate to save a bother or sis-ter in a “May Day” situation.

However, when it comes time to talk about emotions and thoughts we somehow can’t make the call for backup.

Fear, communication, stigma and pride to name a few prevent us from making the “Call for back up.”

It is my mission to help individuals learn the importance of rec-ognizing and honoring our body's natural emotions and thoughts when we experience adversity, trauma and are second-ary victims.

My desire during this workshop is to provide a safe and judge-ment free atmosphere to explore, express and work though our own personal experiences with loss, grief, trauma, adversity and the ongoing stress of a Fire Fighter.

All My Best,

Jennifer

Passionate Inspiration

Final thoughts from Jennifer-

Today I have taken you through many concepts, resources and

mind shifts that I use every single day to process grief, anger, chron-

ic pain, loss, regret and more.

I’ve given you tools and solutions that you can implement right

away. Try one or two. Even the smallest step in the right direction

is a step in the right direction.

Remember, put your own oxygen mask on, Your Life Matters.

For some of you this workshop will be exactly what you needed to

move through some hard stuff or help you heal some past wounds.

But for others, this workshop might be the starting place for your

healing. Because I am not a licensed therapist please know there

are some difficult situations in life that you will want a licensed therapist to help. Please be honest about your need for help. I am

so thankful for the licensed professionals and medical community

who have lovingly helped me through my darkest days. I wouldn’t

have gotten through all of this by myself.

Again, Thank You for the work you do everyday to save lives.

All My Best,

Jennifer

When Good Isn’t Good Enough

You see, in order to survive my years of suicidal thoughts, I had to battle with one of my

deepest core beliefs. I had to decide that my daughters were better off with a broken

mother, one who wasn’t perfect and one who had to learn not to hide her imperfections. I

learned to be real. ... I had to take a look in the mirror and figure out how to love myself

and accept this new me, yet work on myself each day. It was a process, but I figured out

that balance. My imperfections forged my belief system.… My “Perfectly Imperfect Society”

was forged out of the ashes I was left with.

I had to decide that that reality was better than a mother who chose to kill herself because

she was flawed and she knew it.

It hurts when others rub my nose in my imperfections. ... It takes a strong focus and com-

mitment to not let it shake me and over the years the thoughts of suicide have lifted and

now there is a voice that roars ...

Everyone is in their own arena ... facing their own life, adversity and reality … and to sur-

vive it, you must have a strong inner voice, love for yourself and a team of people who

want to see you though it.

Do you have a strong inner voice that encourages you? Do you have a roar that you need

to develop when you feel like you aren’t good enough?
