CALENDAR OF EVENTS AROUND THE SCHOOL
Students have been learning to make and identify fractions. They love sharing different ways to make
fractions.
Students have been learning about 2D shapes -
particularly octagons! To help remember the name of octagons we knew there was an animal with a similar
name- an octopus!
Mrs Marshall challenged the whole school to a cup game
which required teamwork, coordination and quick reflexes.
FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Our Kindergarten Orientation continues to be a success. Miss Blayney is delighted how settled and how quickly each student engages in the life of the school. The remaining dates are:
Thursday 26th November Thursday 3rd November – with a Teddy bears Picnic celebration
Parents are reminded that any student or staff member with cold or flu-like symptoms must stay home, be tested, return a negative result and be symptom-free. We are very appreciative of the help and support all our families are providing and continue to ask that you please abide by COVID-19 safety precautions previously shared with you.
Last week we celebrated NAIDOC Week across the school in a variety of ways. All classes participated in lessons that highlighted the achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Our Remembrance Day service was held outside on the tennis court this year. Thank you to the teachers and students who ran the service and paid homage to the fallen soldiers from Australia. Our students learnt about the many conflicts and peace-keeping missions in which we have been involved.
We are very excited to organise the Big Banana waterpark excursion on Monday 14th December. As we have a private booking, we are able to comply with COVID guidelines. Thank you to the families who have returned their notes already.
Camp notes for Year 2-6 were sent home this week. If you have any questions, please contact the office. We are thankful for our partnership with you and are looking forward to an exciting end-of-year together.
Have a wonderful week.

BUCKET FILLERS
Congratulations to our Bucket Filler winners Zoe Legge and Avalon Blayney.
CELEBRATIONS
Congratulations to our readers who have completed their 2000 club and celebrated with a morning tea with
the Principal.
Those bees are definitely moving up to the beehive.
Beau enjoys taking care of the chickens.
Big Banana Reminder - Notes and payment are required before the day.
AROUND THE SCHOOL
To celebrate NAIDOC Week the students and staff spent the week immersing themselves in culture and celebrating. To commemorate the learning, the staff and students created a mural combining our new school logo and Aboriginal art.
It is exciting to see the weekly improvement in our swimming technique. The swimming teachers have commented on the students application and improved fitness. We are learning the correct breaststroke and butterfly technique.
Look at those faces of concentration. We challenge our families to set this up at home. Please share your photos with us.
Students in Year 2-5 are currently in the process of making a 3D African mask out of paper mache! The group started with inflated ballooons and coated them with the paper mache. We are looking forward to the end results.
