All members can submit 1 piece for hanging.

Hello Everyone,

I would like to introduce myself as the interim president of RRWS for the months of November and December. At the end of this time period, we will install a new president. I am mainly a nature/wildlife artist working in pastel, but also do watercolor painting. I find watermedia very enjoyable and infinitely challenging.

Our watercolor society has a promising year ahead with the Na-tional Show getting off to a good start, and also the Fine Art Show (formerly the 8th Street Show) entrenched in solid plans for early summer.

Of course there are the other events in-between with equal amounts of fun. We warmly invite you to become involved as a vol-unteer. This is a great way to learn new things and meet new peo-ple. We are also hoping you will consider becoming a board mem-ber. Of course, we will welcome you as a volunteer in any capacity with open arms and hearts. Many life-long friendships have been formed by people working together in this organization.

Last, but not least, we thank our outgoing president, Pat Jorgen-sen, for her democratic and flexible leadership. We appreciate the many hours you contributed, and we wish you the very best, Pat.

I hope you all have your woolies ready for winter.

—Cathi Koenig

RRWS Interim President

October Program

Pat Jorgensen was our speaker at the October meeting. She spoke about the life and art of Mary Cassatt. It was very interesting to hear about her rebellious nature and her influence on the art collectors of America and

eventually on the creation of our greatest art museums. Thanks for a great program, Pat!

Thanks, also, for the yummy lunch, Judi Koehmstedt and Sandra Miles.

November 11— Member Meeting At the November meeting we will be discussing and approving the budget for 2015, changes to the bylaws, Silver Brush award, and electing officers for the coming year. It will be an important get together and the lunch will be great...worth coming out for! [Deb Griffey and Barb Nagle will be serving and I heard something about apple crisp!] Hope to see a good turnout of members at this important meeting. As many of you know, Pat Jorgensen has some serious health issues and she has stepped down as president. She has done a great job as our president for most of the past 3 years. We wish her well and will keep her in our thoughts in the next few weeks. We are fortunate to have Cathi Koenig stepping in as our interim president to complete this year. Thanks, Cathi.
