I always wanted to �y away,Far far away from all the low lifeInto the blue and all the grey clouds.I wanted to go,

�e day I saw the big air balloonI absolutely decided to go.


Up I rose in the big balloon,I suddenly realized I was alone!But ‘Oh’ the beautiful sky,Made me forget I was shy!

Not to forget the rainbow,Which had blue, green and indigo!�en came the orange, red and the yellowFollowed by the violet all mellow.


I landed on him�e day I landed (on the clouds)‘Oh no’ I shrieked out aloud!And then began jumping cloud after cloud!

While thinking all the same,‘What was his name?’Was he a monster? Or was he just tame?


He did the same I thinkFor I heard him jump too.Maybe cloud after cloud!For he was just scared too.

Bumpitty SkippityHoppity Bump!!Jump Jump And over the clump!


My thoughts got me nowhere But to a witch’s cauldron!A witch cloud it must be...For she was cooking me to gold-rum!

I wish I could disappear,And disappear I did!�inking at the same time,What the other one did!


�e other was lost tooHe was stuck with a lionWho roared louder and louder So he Ran away too!


We were just a cloud away,when ‘Stop!’ he said,‘My is name is Shady!’(And he was in red)

It just then came to me�at he was a friendAnd I was just afraidfor reasons unsaid!


We became friends thenShady and I!And we jumped cloud after cloudTogether this time!

We danced togetherAnd jumped togetherFor we were not afraid Of one and another!


Together we gazed,At the birds and the bees,when shady asked me,“And your name please?”

I laughed and I laughed At his amused amusementFor “Shady’s mine too” I had said in merriment!


Together we yawnedAnd together we stretchedFor, the day’s activitiesHad put us to rest!

We were falling asleep,Deeper and deeperJust like you want to,To sleep and to sleep and to sleep


A delightful bed time tale for children who are just beginning to read.
