Some History

• The Commodore 64 computer was sold from 1983 .. 1987.

• Some 30 Million copies have been sold making it the best selling computer ever.

The processor and memory

• MOS 6510 processor chip (8-bit)

• Clock speed: 0.985 MHz (PAL video)

• Memory: 64 kbytes of which 38 kbytes was used for the BASIC 2.0 interpreter

• Graphics chip: VIC II, 16 color, 8 hardware sprites text mode: 40*25 characters graphics mode: 320*200 pixels

• Sound chip: MOS technology 6581 (3 channels)
