Marco Brazil holds a master's degree in Child Psychology and a degree in Development Communication. He has been teaching children and training teachers in Asia for over 18 years.

Marco believes learning and teaching English should be fun and easy for both non-native learners and non-native teachers. He is the founder and executive training director of the Institute of Englsih Teaching to Children (IETC) and associate of International Teacher Development Insitute (iTDi). Marco is fondly called The King of Games in Japan.

Mo Choy - Co-author of Story Central and graphic designerMo has continued to work with ELT publishers as a designer, project manager and author, including the new Macmillan primary series Story Central. Mo has a keen interest in linguistics and problem-solving abilities, which became evident when faced with the challenges of producing language materials.

Viv Lambert – Author Story CentralViv is teacher, trainer and author. She worked in house editing and commissioning children’s books and Primary EFL materials and now works as a freelance author specializing in Primary ELT materials. She has written and co-written various Primary courses including Story Central, Next Move for Macmillan.

In this session the authors will pay particular attention to the role of stories in sca�olding the learning process, supporting both teachers and students alike.

Chiyuki Yanase is a language school owner, an EFL material writer and an ALT at public elementary schools in Tokyo. She has been teaching English for young learners in Japan for over 20 years and graduated from the MSc TEYL program at Aston University in the UK. In this presentation, Chiyuki will introduce a story-based approach to language learning utilizing modern day course books. The participants will learn how to develop young learners’ skills through literacy, empathy and a love of storytelling.

John Cruft is the Regional Professional Development Manager for Macmillan Education,

Asia. He has been working in South and Southeast Asia for over 12 years as both a teacher

and teacher trainer. He has also designed and delivered professional development workshops

including government INSETT projects in Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Myanmar and Sri

Lanka.

John holds a Master’s degree in Education and International Development from the Institute

of Education in London, where the focus of his study was on education systems across Asia.

He also holds a PGDip TESOL from the University of Nottingham, where his studies included

teacher education in Southeast Asia.
