Fun Fact #2: Who Can Indentify This Celebrity?

Page 14: By: Elinor Quint, Shiry Taitlbaum , Callie Wexler

Bonded Leather

• leather pieces bonded together with latex binders into a fibrous mat.

• The surface is coated with polyurethane to create an extremely durable topcoat

100% Cotton

Page 16: By: Elinor Quint, Shiry Taitlbaum , Callie Wexler

100% Cotton• low luster due to the

unevenness of the fiber surface, but can have a higher luster for longer fibers, mercerized cotton and fabrics with finishes.

• Cotton fibers are typically off white, and are easily bleached and dyed.

• Less drape than knit cotton, but still has quite a flexible drape.

• Cotton is a woven fabric created from staple fibers being twisted together into yarns.

• Wrinkles easily due to its low resilience to elastic recovery of the fibers, as well as it shrinks during the first few launderings due to the relaxation shrinkage.

• The cotton in the Alexander Wang line, has been pre washed, as well as is dry clean only, as to prevent the possibility of shrinkage.

Laser Cuts

• The Engraving of leather is done through the laser sublimating the leather surface, meaning that the leather changes to its gaseous phase ("evaporates").

• With increasing laser performance and decreasing travel speed, the depth of the engraving is increased

Digital Print

• Digital printing is the method of using wide format printers to print directly onto the fabric. Dyes and pigments are used to produce inks for digital printing
