• Coast : Indicates the line of intersection of seawater with
the continents.
• Shoreline: Indicates the area which located between the
level of low tide and the high land on the continent.
• Beach: Is the area between the level of low tide and the
high tide which covered with sand and gravel.
• Foreshore: Is the area between high and low tide.
• Back shore: is the area between high tide and coastline.

Elongated ridges of sand extending from the land into the mouth
of an adjacent bay, often the end of a spit hooks landward in
response to wave-generated currents.

• To how much extent the coastal area affects by
lowering and elevation of sea level.

The true definition of a reef is a ridge of a rock or any other type
of land that extends some distance at shallow water.
A reef has 2 main characteristics
1. Ridge of rock or sand 2. At or near the surface of water
A coral reef is a wave-resistant limestone structure produced by
living organisms, found principally in shallow, tropical marine
waters.
