Universitypresence.WiththeCivicHalls,GrandTheatreandtheLightHouse

offeringarichrangeofvenuesthecityisamajorhubforliveentertainment

complementedbyahostofclubs,bars,restaurantsandcafés.

However,wearefacingincreasingcompetitionfromneighbouringtownslike

Telford,citieslikeBirminghamandretailparkslikeBentleyBridge.Coupledwith

thefastchangingpaceofonlineretail,wecannotaffordtositback.Footfallis

decliningandtougheconomiccircumstancesareaffectingusall.Weneedto

secureWolverhampton’splaceasathrivingcitycentre,toattractshoppersback

andevolvetomeettheirchangingneeds.

WolverhamptonbusinesseshaveanopportunitythroughaBusinessImprovement

Establishing a BID Eacheligiblebusinessratepayerwillhaveonevoteperhereditamentprovided

theyarelistedontheNationalNon-DomesticRateslistasprovidedby

WolverhamptonCityCouncilon1stSeptember2014.

InordertoestablishaBIDthevotewillneedtobeforamajorityYesvoteinterms

ofnumbersandalsothosethatvoteYESwillhavetoalsorepresentthemajority

rateablevalue.OnceamajorityvotehasbeenachievedtheBIDbecomes
