Consider a scene where all of your customers and people interested in your product are assembled in one room and there is a podium in front.
The hired speaker steps to the podium and the crowd, while still talking, appears to
notice the presence.
You take a deep breath and hand the microphone to an employee to deliver the message.
You know you have a very limited time to make an impression, but you are confident you can get the right message across.
Already a few are turned off by the appearance of the employee and begin to leave.
The employee then shouts
about a big sale, big savings, and how wonderful the company is at what they do.
More people leave.
Customers leave.
Big-name potential clients leave.
Only 15 seconds have gone by since this session began, but now the room is becoming visibly emptier.
After 20 seconds, the employee at the podium has stopped talking about the business and is now talking about plans for the weekend.
The room is nearly empty now except for only a few die-hard fans and customers.
This is Facebook…every update.
This is Twitter…every tweet.
This is YouTube…every view.
This is your blog…every post.
This is your website…every second.
This is social media…in real life.
