Our aim is to develop your entrepreneurial skills to meet the demands of dynamic employers. Entrepreneurship education is among Nottingham’s foremost established strengths, and practising entrepreneurs are extensively involved in the MBA programme.

The core module, Entrepreneurship and Creativity, integrates lectures and creativity workshops with extensive participation from practitioners. You will take part in the Ingenuity process–a unique method for encouraging creative problem solving, developed by our Haydn Green Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

International study toursExperiencing different cultures and realising the direct impact of differing environments on business takes you from the classroom to the real world.

Our international study tours offer you the opportunity to gain direct experience of business and insights into current hot topics through meetings with executives, company visits, sessions with academic experts, and cultural excursions (subject to an additional fee).

We will offer a virtual international business study tour, if it is not possible to travel due to Covid-19.

You can visit blue-chip companies, US financial institutions, tech start ups and not for profit organisations in New York City.

China and MalaysiaNottingham’s unique connections with China and Malaysia offer a fantastic opportunity to learn about the essentials of doing business inthese countries.

International study tours are typically offered on alternate years and take place in June.

The China tour has included visits to the following companies in previous years:

Our MBA programmesAll our MBA programmes consist of core and optional modules, and an individual or group management project.

We aim to:

■ improve your leadership skills ■ build your practical management

competence through engagement with business

■ encourage a creative and entrepreneurial approach to problem solving

■ develop your understanding of responsible and sustainable business practices

■ cultivate an international perspective through a mix of teaching, teamwork, and opportunities for overseas business visits

A fundamental part of your learning and development is through group work. We provide a management and interpersonal skills programme that all course members take part in.

Working with talented peers from many different professional and cultural backgrounds, and close interaction with academic staff accelerates your learning and management development.

MBAOur MBA will build on your management skills and experience, and will help to expand your global career prospects and earning potential. It will enhance your CV and help to bring you to the notice of prestigious employers who are looking for the skillset you will have.

You’ll study core modules covering essential areas of management including leadership, marketing, operations management and entrepreneurship. You will also choose from optional modules that enable you to specialise in areas that align with your career goals. These cover topics including venture capital, ethics, corporate finance and change management.

You will take part in an interpersonal skills programme, and your learning will be enhanced through group work with talented peers from different professional and cultural backgrounds. You’ll also be able to put your skills into practice when you work on projects with leading multinational companies or small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

Entry requirements2:1 (or international equivalent) in any discipline. We will also consider applications from graduates with good approved university honours degrees as well as those with significant professional experience or qualifications that have the potential to enhance the diversity of the MBA class.

Admission to our full-time MBA requires at least three to five years of post-graduation full-time work experience that includes some management experience. The application process will include an interview.

Our courses

Executive MBA and Executive Healthcare MBAThis course enables you to combine flexible study with a demanding career, providing advanced management education that matches the needs of developing executives. It builds on your existing years of management skills and experience, and will help to expand your global career prospects and earning potential.

The programme can be completed in two to four years and you can choose from several starting points throughout the year. You can also vary the number of modules you take each year and spread the cost by paying for each module as you progress.

You’ll study essential areas of management including leadership, marketing, operations management and entrepreneurship. Our optional modules also enable you to specialise in areas that align with your career goals. They cover topics including venture capital, ethics, corporate finance and change management.

You will learn alongside students from private, public, and non-profit organisations, offering fresh perspectives on business issues and exceptional networking opportunities.

Executive Healthcare MBAThis course is specifically designed for those who want to continue their focus on the healthcare sector while also receiving a broad MBA education.

You will study essential areas of management as above as well as undertake two healthcare modules which are led by academics whose research focuses specifically on healthcare management, and invited experts from the healthcare sector.

Funding and scholarships

Our scholarships cover up to 30 to 100% of tuition fees. These scholarships will be awarded to candidates who demonstrate exceptional experience and leadership skills.

Our strategy is to create a diverse cohort with proven managerial experience. Award winners will stand as ambassadors for our MBA programmes and be supported to create powerful networks for the future.

Some scholarship awards will require additional evidence or interviews. Scholarships are limited and will be allocated as offers are made so we recommend you apply as soon as possible.

We also offer partial Executive MBA bursaries for those who are employed in UK, EU and international public sector or non-profit organisations.

Alumni scholarshipsIf you have previously graduated from the University of Nottingham in the UK, China or Malaysia, you will qualify for an alumni scholarship award.

EU studentsStudents from the EU, EEA or Switzerland will pay international tuition fees for courses starting in the 2021/22 academic year.

This does not apply to Irish students. UK nationals living in the EU, EEA and Switzerland will also continue to be eligible for ‘home’ fee status until 31 December 2027.

International studentsThe University offers a wide range of scholarships for international students.When planning your studies and funding, you should consider your living expenses, such as accommodation, food, travel and leisure, plus tuition fees.

Sponsoring organisationsMany organisations pay all or some of the fees for their employees to study our MBA, and some choose to send new employees year after year. The reason is simple: a clear and immediate return on investment. Your managers are professionals and, just as you are supporting them, we will support you to tailor an Executive MBA programme to benefit your business in several ways:

■ Students use their personal business experience in classes and assignments

■ Study is flexible according to the needs of your organisation

■ Optional modules can help meet development needs or current responsibilities

■ Create value for your business by using a real issue as the basis for the management project

■ Your managers could develop international experience by taking some modules in Malaysia or Singapore
