A WORD from Professor Michel Gutsatz, Ph.D.Associate Dean, MBA Programmes Director, Kedge Business School

Your career is already successful but you are convinced that your future depends on your ability to continually develop yourself. You want to expand your mind, to stimulate your intellect, and to face real challenges. You want to enter a world-class Executive MBA to open new doors, increase your capacities and extend your global network. Enter the 22nd Intake of our MBA. Our mission with the Global MBA is to offer our participants a prestigious Master of Business Administration degree from a top-level, internation-ally recognised academic institution, in perfect synergy with the business world – to equip executives with the competencies, cultural sensitivity and strategic vision they need so as to effectively deal with the challenges in today’s global economy. I am particularly proud of what we have achieved with our Global MBA programme, which is now ranked #43 (and 3rd in France) among the Top 100 Executive MBAs worldwide by the Financial Times!

I am proud of the fact that our institution is one of the 0.5% of Business Schools worldwide hold-ing ‘triple-crown’ accreditation (EQUIS, AMBA, and AACSB). But I am most proud of the direc-tion our programme is heading. With the opening of new sections in both Paris and Bordeaux in 2014 and the launch of 4 new Majors, our programme is characterised by a highly individualised learning-path, a strong leadership module, courses with an integrated

view on management and a strong focus on acquiring a global vision. Our participants – whether they primarily follow their MBA in France or in China - have numerous opportunities of working together. Our vision is to build a unique learning community, spanning continents where you will gain access to our internationally renowned faculty and to a unique global network of 35 000 Alumni. I encourage you to visit our website, attend one of our MBA Conferences, or best, come sit-in on a course where you’ll meet our current participants, faculty and staff to get the full picture of our programme.

We look forward to welcoming you!

"I learned a lot in terms of knowledge, but above all about myself"Nowadays, the maritime environment is central to the development of the worldwide economy. Therefore, the Global MBA* shall be the reference for executive education programs. Churchill said "an optimist sees the opportunity in every dif-ficulty". People involved in the Global MBA* are required to be optimists because this adventure will be hard, demanding, but also great and so rewarding. I lived it fully and intensely and I learned a lot in terms of knowledge, but above all about myself. By overcoming each difficulty, I reached a milestone in my personal development and I am now armed to meet the new maritime challenges of my company.

THE GLOBAL BUSINESS WORLD IS A MOVING TARGET It is impossible to adequately prepare for the economic context of the future by con-fining oneself to the models of the present. It is based on this fundamental belief that the Global MBA mandates the participa-tion in at least 2 (and up to 5) International Business Seminars, all located where your future potential markets are taking shape.

In order to expand your conceptions of the business world and open new opportuni-ties, the International Business Seminars are true field experiences; combining aca-demic theory, real-life consultancy work, benchmarking, business networking and direct socio-cultural interactions.

THE ADVANTAGES OF A MULTI-PLATFORM PROGRAMME Follow the MBA on 4 campuses: choose Paris, Marseille, Bordeaux or Shanghai.

Follow a 2-week Major in France or in China: your selected Major will determine the location of this 2-week intensive mod-ule (see page 8 the location of each Major).Or, follow a 4-week Major across 4 dif-ferent countries (see detail page 4).

Key benefit: At any point, should your professional evolution permit or necessi-tate, move from one campus to the other.

MORE THAN JUST A BUSINESS SCHOOLTake advantage of your connection to MBA Alumni in China to develop your company activities in Asia; meet with potential business partners during organized networking events in Brazil, or meet potential clients during our multi-national Business Simulations

THE INTERNATIONAL PARTICIPANTSEvery year, more than 130 executives join the Global MBA programme from 14 different nationalities. The Global MBA programme is committed to offering them numerous occasions to meet, exchange and work together through:- Multi-campus courses and simulations- International Seminars- Specialisation Majors- Special MBA Events- Consultancies

"Diversity is a powerful learning tool"I try to make my course "Managerial Economics" reach a certain tailor-made level. Based on participants’ profiles, I prepare updated cases and reading materials. This is an efficient way to bridge the theoretical framework and business complexity. I build up an open dialog with participants, who act as experts in their fields, in order to stimulate their critical thinking. I also try to bring them a "Chinese touch", an indispensable piece of globalisation.

Dr. William Hua WangAssociate Professor, China Area Manager, Kedge Business School

ENTER ONE OF THE WORLD'S MOST INTERNATIONAL MBAS

*

Despite my more than 20 years of experience in the United Nations, the Global MBA has fundamentally improved my managerial skills and has given me a tremendous opportunity to know and to interact, not only with professors of high calibre from various origins, but also with multi-cultural executives from all over the world. That melting pot was an asset and definitely a precious added value to the quality of the experience and I know I'll stay in contact with my MBA friends.

Mamadou M’Baye 57 years old - 2011 intake. United Nations Algeria Coordinator; United Nations Development Programme Representative

* "The international visit component of the part-time Kedge MBA is one of the strongest and most substantial elements of this kind that assessment panels have observed in accredited part-time programmes."

THE GLOBAL MBA INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION Entering the Global MBA can propel you to the coveted and limited network of international Executive MBA graduates from the best business schools worldwide. The last Financial Times ranking of the top Executive MBAs worldwide placed the Global MBA on this elite list in the 43rd

position. The Global MBA has now become the n°3 French EMBA programme.

THE INTERNATIONAL ACCREDITATIONS Of the 13 670 schools offering business degree programmes worldwide, only 58 hold "Triple Accreditation" by the three most influential business school accreditation associations: AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS. The Global MBA is also Accredited by the Ministry of Educa-tion, The People’s Republic of China.

"The Global MBA has targeted major Business Schools and Institutions to provide participants the opportunity to meet MBA students and professors from the best academic environments and exchange over chosen business topics."

DEVELOPING FUTURE LEADERS takes time and requires diversified experiences

The development of leaders involves both enhancing their knowledge of business acumen and helping them optimise their management behaviours - and this takes time. MBA participants will both acquire state-of-the-art business knowledge and build performance-oriented attitudes and behaviours.

INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS CONSULTANCIES FRANCE/USA Work with a US MBA team to deliver a real consultancy report with an international focus. 2014 IBC topic: Conduct international benchmarking analysis and develop a strategy to increase communication effi-ciency and visibility of Universal Studio, Orlando, USA.

'OPEN YOUR MIND' CONFERENCES The Global MBA programme organises monthly conferences, with a three-fold objective:

- Thorough exploration of a pertinent busi-ness topic, using unique insights and the latest research developments.

- Development of the MBA Community Net-work, allowing Alumni, participants and candidates to exchange within the frame-work of a “social-academic” event.

- Contribution to “out of the box” ways of thinking by addressing un-conventional topics.

BLENDED-LEARNING The 'Get Ready to Start' online modules allow participants to acquire the basics, when necessary, and to become familiar with the fundamentals, enabling the pro-fessors to go deep into the subject right from the start.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS These projects create added value by pro-viding the opportunity to bring together the acquired knowledge and thus bear a sustainable impact on the participant’s profes-sional life. Participants work to complete this con-crete and practical application (a new pro-fessional challenge or an entrepreneurial venture), accompanied through close mon-itoring by the MBA professors and tutors.

If I were to do this again? "Having a very successful Engineering career at Siemens, Ericsson, and Intel, I wanted to take my career to the Executive level. This change was tantamount to a quantum shift in my understanding of management and leadership. Kedge Global MBA, with its unique combination of leadership and strategy coursework, executive coaching, and a hard-hitting entrepreneurship program was instrumental in helping me spread my wings and take off to found IFIEGO, a sustainable transport infrastructure company – if I were to do this again, my unequivocal choice would be Kedge!"

"MBA Course: Brand Community Management" In my MBA course, we cast branding in a different light by examining it from the standpoint of the consumers’ world, the web of communal relationships in which they are suspended. This directly impacts the management of brands and helps to critically rethink the branding approach. Stressing such a critical focus, the course makes extensive use of research-oriented pedagogy.

WHY SHOULD YOUR EXECUTIVESCHOOSE THE GLOBAL MBA?

"During this programme, I have gained close to 10 years of experience" Civil engineer and manager with 25 years' experience in the French navy, I wanted to gain more civil business knowledge and shipping expertise. The Global MBA brought me to the level I wanted and the outstanding programme helped me to benefit from highly-skilled lecturers. I confirm also that following an executive MBA alongside your job is challenging, but I got strong support from my fellow students from whom I have learned a lot during the sessions. My experience has been very positive: during the programme, I have gained close to 10 years of experience and feel strong enough to accept a challenging position in any business.

Franck Magarian 50 years old, 2009 Intake. Vice President Procurement, CMA-CGM Group

"The MBA has changed my life" At the end of the year 2010, I decided to join the Global MBA programme and I didn’t know, at this time, the added value that this experience was going to bring to me. Somebody in the staff told me "whatever you do later on, the MBA will change your life". And it’s true. After 15 years of work experience, I profited from my experience and learned more about business, management and mainly about myself. The time was very intense as I had to carry on in my job, while also completing courses, case studies and spend time with my family. But every moment spent in the MBA was profitable and mind-opening. Teachers and coaches are skilful and the staff was always present to help me find the most adapted solution to manage the programme, my job and my life.

François Cordeau 45 years old, 2010 Intake. Factory Director, OTV Groupe Veolia "The clash of business cultures."

I chose the Global MBA to better understand and adopt Chinese business practice. In class, the brainstorming between the professor and classmates gave me a lot of contemplation from different angles and positions. For instance, in the ‘Business ethics & Corporate Social Responsibility’ course, we debated whether a company’s subsistence is more important than its corporate responsibility, which was quite surprising. The Global MBA Alumni and professors are former or current multinational professional managers, not only in China but also from US, EU, Brazil and so on. Furthermore, they come from many industries and positions. It broadened my knowledge and helped me become truly international. I now share my business experience with alumni and participants.

Tetsuyuki Matsui 41 years old, 2009 Intake.Senior Manager Segment Marketing MCU.NEC Electronics (China) Co., Ltd -

I have been teaching in the Global MBA programme in Marseille and Shanghai since 2006, and the experience continues to be a joy and a privilege. Discussing with these seasoned executives topics such as the recent developments of economic and financial globalisation, the resulting international shifts of power and the impacts on corporate strategies all around the world is indeed invigorating.
