At Cirencester College we are offering a new Foundation
Degree in Business in an exciting new partnership with the
Open University (OU). Building on our 5 years experience
of delivering the Business Foundation Degree, we have
combined the highly respected standards of the Open
University with the vocational experience of teaching staff
at Cirencester College, one of the top tertiary colleges in the
country. We have many successful years of experience of
teaching adult professional courses, and in partnership with
local employers and our Business, Finance and IT Academies
for 16 -19 students who are interested in a career in industry.
who is it for?
The Foundation Degree is ideal for those looking to
enhance their career through continuing professional
development, without having to give up work
to become a full-time student. You will have the
opportunity to use practical skills as part of your
qualification. You should be able to demonstrate a
level of written and spoken English, and Mathematics
that will enable you to meet the assessment criteria.

All students study these modules in Year One

• Introduction to Financial Services
• An Introduction to Business Studies
• Introduction to Book-keeping and Accounting
• Understanding Management
All Students study these modules in Year Two
• Business Organisations and their Environments
• Business Functions in Context
where will I study and for what duration?
The course will be taught at Cirencester College mainly by
workshops and tutorials with College lecturers throughout the year, and supported
by Open University materials.
how will I be assessed?
By a mixture of written assignments or examinations.
what can I do after the foundation degree?
Once your foundation degree has been successfully completed, you may wish to
top-up your qualification to a full degree via the Open University.
