DRESS

Club Members Summer Uniform, Nautical attire following the

salute.

Guests/ Nautical attire

COMMUNICATIONS

Very Important that ALL vessels standby on VHF 69 and transmit

on 1 watt only. Directions will be given for safe passage past the

Seabus area by one of the three patrol boats. Patrol boats will also

monitor VHF 68 for assistance.

FLEET ORDERS – Read by Fleet Captain Bill Iverson

After the ceremonies, please prepare to proceed to the staging area

in the following manner. Heritage and Sailing vessels (BLUE)

should depart and proceed to the staging area at 1130, followed by

Displacement Power vessels (RED) at 1145, followed by Planning

Power vessels (WHITE) at 1200. All groups should group in the

three areas marked on the chart as follows.

BLUE - Heritage and Sailboats: Led by Vice Commodore Rob

Stokes onboard “M/V Current Affair” displaying the BLUE

flag

RED - Displacement Powerboats: Led by Rear Commodore

David Gagnon onboard “M/V Knot Online” displaying the

RED flag

WHITE - Planing powerboats: Led by Outstation Director

Tony Read onboard “M/V Southern Belle” displaying the

WHITE flag

FORMATION

All vessels to travel in a single line, at dead slow speed

maintaining approximately 10 meters or 1 1/2 boat lengths

between vessels.

Beginning at 1230 the formation led by the Past Commodore

vessel “M/V Blue Horizons” will proceed past the Commodore in

the order BLUE, RED then WHITE with all vessels following

their group lead boat.

The formation will follow the course marked on the chart in a

Southerly heading to round on the West side of the turnabout “S/V

Felice Bear” then a Northerly heading passing West of the Staff

Captain on “M/V Escape”, then passing the Commodore on your

starboard side. The Commodore will be anchored off of Waterfront

Park.

SALUTE

Hold your position in a single line and as your vessel’s bow comes

in line with the stern of the Commodore’s vessel, the crew should

come to attention facing the Commodore. Lower your ensign.

Only the skipper salutes, holding the salute until the commodore’s

ensign is raised and the salute is returned. The crew then stands

easy and the vessel proceeds in a line until well clear of the saluting

area.

DISPERSAL AND (CLEMENTINE) CELEBRATIONS

After the formal salute to the Commodore, all vessels MUST

proceed east past Vancouver dry-dock. As all vessels will pass

through the Seabus traffic area, directions from the BYC patrol boat

MUST be followed. Some vessels may be required to change course

to the south to permit safe passage for the Seabus. After vessels

have passed the Vancouver dry-dock they are permitted to disperse.

BUT ARE NOT PERMITTED TO RETURN TO BURRARD

YACHT CLUB UNTIL ALL VESSELS HAVE PROCEEDED

PAST THE COMMODORE AND THE ALL CLEAR HAS BEEN

ANNOUNCED FROM THE CLUB PATROL BOAT

APPROXIMATELY 1300 HRS. Note that no additional ceremony

will be occurring at the club

For all those who are continuing to Clementine outstation, please

make your way remembering the no-wake zone between Roche Pt

and the northern tip of Racoon Island. Clementine Dockmaster will

be on VHF 69

**Light fare and ale will be provided at Clementine. Please bring

your own plates, cutlery and glasses.**
