6. Signs cannot be posted anywhere other than at the kiosk location. No helium balloons are permitted.

North Shore Mall 2020

GSEMA Policy Procedures:

1. See COBS section of the online 2019 – 2020 Cookie Book for general booth sale procedures. 2. You must bring sufficient change. Do not expect banks or stores to make change for you – bring no

less than $100 in small bills. 3. Consider using the Smart Cookies Credit Card payment option or a card reader. 4. Girl Scouts should wear their uniform (smock, sash, vest, or membership pin) or a Girl Scout T-shirt

at all booth sales. 5. Review sales numbers from previous booth sales at this site using the following link.

Past and Current Year COBS Reported Totals

6. Please remember to report your totals at the end of your sale. Your reported sales totals are important to us and help to inform fellow troops on sale projections, as well as help council to continue sales at the site.

7. Must have 2 girls minimum - 4 girls maximum selling at a time. All girls must be registered with the troop (no tag-alongs) and must be accompanied by 2 GSEMA CORI’D adults at all times.

Mall Guidelines/Security Measures:

1. Do not change your booth location. This location is designated by the mall and paid for by the council. Since carts/kiosks are provided by the mall, you will not need to provide tables or chairs. Do not bring camp/beach chairs or other bulky items that will be in the way of passersby. (Please see Booth Location below for Mall specific information)

Keep the girls busy and engaged. There can be no running around in the aisles. Again, this poses

a security hazard and the mall staff will ask you to leave. Girls must be within 3’ of the cart/kiosk at all times. Girls are not to leave the kiosk to

solicit sales from shoppers. There is no approaching, hawking, calling to, or begging shoppers. Do not call to them in

the aisles. Often something as simple as a smile can attract cookie customers! Think safety – keep track of your money, your cookies, and your girls at all times. Make a plan

for who will be responsible for all aspects of keeping the sale running smoothly and safely. Costumes, which cover the girl’s face, are prohibited

2. Sampling is NOT permitted. The Mall is strictly adhering to Health code guidelines and any sampling requires a permit through the Health Department.

3. When you unload, make sure that all sale materials including cardboard boxes are stored under the

cart or in the storage area. No boxes or other materials can stay in the aisles. All shopping carts, dollies, etc. used to bring in the boxes must be removed to your cars. Leaving material in the aisles is a safety hazard, and the mall staff will ask you to leave.

4. Keep your cart/kiosk area neat and organized – you’ll be more appealing to shoppers. Coats, handbags and any other personal items must be stored safe and secure. Stray coats can pose a tripping hazard for shoppers. The mall is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

5. Use the shelves or counter top of kiosk to display your cookies for sale; be creative. The cart could be decorated already for your troop, but feel free to create a sign for girls to hold containing the

following information: your troop number, cookie price of $5.00 and any troop goals or highlights you may want to share!

6. Signs cannot be posted anywhere other than at the kiosk location. No helium balloons are permitted.

7. At the end of your shift, please remove all trash from Mall property and leave the kiosk/cart area as neat as you found it. Empty cases can be returned to a Council Cookie Cupboard for recycling.

Booth Location:

Your designated mall and time slot is listed in your confirmation from SmartCookies. You do not need to check in upon arrival, you can go right to the booth and get started. This year council has allowed time between booth times. Please do not go over your designated time.

1. The cart is located in front of Boston Barkery (near the JC Penney end of mall). 2. Troops can enter the mall using the Mall door entrance near Not Your Average Joe’s. 3. The Mall Management has asked that troops to keep the kiosk decorated.

First troop of the day sale, please place all materials found on kiosk in the cabinet and set up as necessary.

Last troop of the day sale, please replace the materials found in the cabinet, back on the kiosk. 4. The mall welcomes home-made signs used for selling cookies, but they cannot have glitter or have

pieces that might separate from the sign. They must be clear and easy to read. 5. Nothing can glued, screwed, taped, stapled or attached/affixed to the cart in a manner that will

damage the cart. 6. Please use the cart’s main countertop to create your exciting cookie display. 7. All product, props, etc. must be on the cart. No floor fixtures of any type are permitted. 8. Please do not remove anything from the cart that does not belong to the troop. These items are

property of the mall or GSEMA.
