Over 90 years of ESSIAC® History:ESSIAC® is a proprietary herbal formula that has been available since 1922. This formula was given to nurse Rene Caisse from a Canadian Ojibwa Indian, to help support the immune system. Nurse Caisse named her formula ESSIAC®, which is her name spelled backwards.

From 1922 to 1978, nurse Caisse helped thousands of people with her ESSIAC® herbal formula at her clinic, in Bracebridge, Ontario, Canada.

In 1977, nurse Caisse signed over all of her rights to the ESSIAC® formula, to a Canadian company.

Today, ESSIAC® Canada International owns the rights to the ESSIAC® and ESSIAC® for Pets formulas, made only in Canada and exported worldwide.

What is in our formula?

Our proprietary herbal formula is a premium quality blend of extracts from: Burdock root (Arctium lappa), Sheep sorrel leaves (Rumex Acestosella), Slippery elm bark (Ulmus rubra), and Indian rhubarb root (Rheum officinale). When combined they are synergistically enhanced.

BURDOCK ROOT (Arctium Lappa)Used traditionally to help reduce mucus, maintain a healthy gastrointestinal tract, stimulate a healthy immune response, serves as a diuretic for waste retention, and sweat out toxins through the skin.

SLIPPERY ELM BARK (Ulmus Fulva)Contains large amounts of tannins and mucilages which are believed to help dissolve mucus deposits in tissue, glands, and nerve channels.

INDIAN RHUBARB ROOT (Rheum Officinale)Used traditionally in small amounts, this herb acts as a gentle laxative and helps purge the liver of toxic buildup and waste.

SHEEP SORREL LEAVES (Rumex Acetosella)Used in traditional folk herbalism to cool the body, create sweating and detoxification through the skin. This herb is useful in maintaining healthy kidneys and urinary functions. It is rich in vitamins and trace minerals and is thought to nourish the glandular system.

Giving ESSIAC® to Your Pets...ESSIAC® for Pets is made from nurse Rene Caisse’s Proprietary Herbal Formula, manufactured only in Canada by ESSIAC® Canada Intl. Our new ESSIAC® for Pets capsule formula was made with your pet’s well-being in mind, easy and convenient to take.

The ESSIAC® for Pets capsule formula can be given with a small amount of food, or simply use a convenient ‘pill pocket’ that you can find in your local pet store.

The following chart will give you the suggested daily amounts for your cat or dog in relation to their weight.

Maintaining a Health Immune System… The immune system of a cat or dog is as complex as the human immune system. Your pets’ immune system helps to keep them in optimal health.

Consider the following suggestions to help maintain a strong and healthy immune system:

• Use ESSIAC® for Pets as suggested by your health care professional or veterinarian.

• Always give your pet a fresh and clean supply of drinking water.

• Make sure your pet gets plenty of exercise outdoors (if possible). Spending time in the sunlight helps in the production of vitamin D.

• What you feed your pet is very important. Make sure your pets’ diet is as good as possible. Read the labels for chemicals, food additives and preservatives, which you should try to avoid.

• Consider adding fresh fruits, vegetables, grains and proteins to your pet’s regular diet (consult your veterinarian).

• Try to protect your pet from environmental toxins such as pesticides, which can be toxic to your pet’s health.

• Consider giving your pet a mineral and vitamin supplement daily, or as directed by a health care professional or veterinarian.

• Control your pet’s weight through proper nutrition and exercise, so they remain fit. Excess weight will add unnecessary stress to their bodies.

Stress-free environments are good for everyone, including your pet.
