Voleibol de playa encendido en Playa Tamarindo

GUANACASTE, Costa Rica, Abril 15, 2016. El calor de Playa Tamarindo y el alto nivel de juego fueron ingredientes que le dieron un sabor especial al inicio de la cuarta parada del Tour NORCECA de Voleibol de Playa.

Los equipos masculinos de

Canadá y Estados Unidos encontraron un poco de resistencia, pero al final se llevaron dos triunfos en la jornada, dominando sus respectivos grupos.

McLachlin/Evans, de Estados Unidos vencieron a Monge/Masís, de Costa Rica-B, 2-0 con doble 21-14, y luego superaron a Tato y Pepe, de El Salvador, 2-0 (21-19, 21-11). Ambos equipos perdedores vencieron a Guadalupe y definirán entre ellos el segundo lugar del grupo B este sábado a las 9:30 a.m.

En el grupo C, Canadá y Guatemala lograron dos triunfos. Los canadienses Plantinga/Wheelan se impusieron con doble 21-13 a Denis López/Gerson Contreras, de Nicaragua y también ganaron a González/Miranda, de Costa Rica, 2-0 (21-13, 21-15).

Por su parte, Andy Leonardo y Luis García, de Guatemala, ganaron a González/Miranda 2-0 (23-21, 21-16) y a López/Contreras 2-0 (21-17, 21-19). Canadienses y guatemaltecos se medirán este sábado alas 11:0 a.m. para definir el primer lugar del grupo C.

En el A, que tiene tres parejas, Daneli Williams/Fabien Whitfield de Trinidad y Tobago ganaron a Wilfredo Vega/Mercuri Miller, de Honduras por 2-0 (21-5, 21-2), y Héctor Soto/Sergio Figueroa, de Puerto Rico, superaron a los hondureños, pero con más dificultad, por 2-0 (21-9, 24-22). Ambos ganadores jugarán a las 10:15 a.m. este sábado.

Estados Unidos quiere tener dos equipos en semifinal y van por buen camino con Michael Boag/Devon Hatcher quienes vencieron a Christian Redmann/Felipe

Humana-Paredes, de Canadá, por 2-0, (21-19, 21-13) y a Richard Smith/Sebastián Valenciano, de Costa Rica, por 2-1, (17-21, 21-17, 15-7), liderando el grupo D.

heat and high level play were ingredients that gave a special flavor at the beginning of the fourth stop of the

NORCECA Beach

Volleyball Circuit.

Canada`s and United States´s men team found some resistance, but eventually took two wins in the day, dominating their respective groups. McLachlin/ Evans, of USA beat Bryan Monge/ Roland Masís of Costa Rica-B, 2-0 double 21-14, and then outscored Tato and Pepe, of El Salvador, by 2-0 (21-19, 21- 11). Both teams beat losers Guadalupe and define between them the second place in Group B on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. In pool C, Michael Plantinga/ Cameron Wheelan from Canada were imposed with double 21-13 to Denis Lopez/ Gerson Contreras of Nicaragua, and also won Alejandro Gonzalez/ Marcos Miranda of Costa Rica, by 2-0 (21-13, 21-15). Meanwhile, Andy Leonardo and Luis Garcia of Guatemala, won Gonzalez/ Miranda by 2-0 (23-21, 21-16) and defeat Lopez/ Contreras by 2-0 (21-17, 21-19). The winners will meet Saturday wings 11: 0 a.m. to define the first place in Group C. In the pool A, which has three couples, Daneli Williams/ Fabien Whitfield of Trinidad and Tobago beat Wilfredo Vega/ Mercuri Miller of Honduras by 2-0 (21-5, 21-2) and Hector Soto/ Sergio Figueroa, of Puerto Rico, outscored Vega/Miller by 2-0 (21-9, 24-22). GUANACASTE, Costa Rica, Abril 15, 2016. Las parejas femeninas de Cuba, Estados Unidos y Canadá abrieron con dos triunfos en la primera jornada de la cuarta parada del Tour NORCECA de Voleibol de Playa, confirmando su condición de favoritas.

Yanisleidis Sanchez/Lidiannis Echeverría de Cuba superaron a Jarisa Hynds/Christeanne Etches, de Honduras, por 2-0 (21-10, 21-9), y a Jessica Wolfenden/Stefanie Gandolfi, de Islas Caimán, por 2-0 (21-9, 21-6), dejando para la segunda jornada, este sábado, la definición del primer lugar del grupo A, ya que Costa Rica, con Karen Cope y Natalia Alfaro también ganaron sus dos juegos, 2-0, a Honduras (21-8, 21-10) e Islas Caimán (21-9, 21-6).

Las canadienses Brandie Wilkerson/Julie Gordon consiguieron dos victorias, primero ante Valeria Valenciano/Marcela Araya, de Costa Rica por 2-0 (21-11, 21-19), y luego a Bennett/Valenciana, de Islas Vírgenes por 2-0 (21-5, 21-6).La sorpresa del grupo B fue el triunfo de las locales Valenciano/Araya sobre Stephanie Burnside/Zaira Orellano, de México, por 2-1 (21-17, 14-21, 17-15).

En tanto, la otra pareja de México, Claudia Ríos/Gloria Santoyo, terminaron con dos triunfos, superando a Claudia Machado/Socorro López, de Nicaragua (21-16, 21-11) y a Ana Villalobos/Aury Álvarez, de Guatemala, por 2-0 (21-7, 21-6). Rachel Crockel/Camille Saxton también de Canadá, vencieron a Nicaragua 21-12, 21-15, y a Guatemala 21-3, 21-4.

Kelly Reeves/Allison McColloch, de Estados Unidos, lideran el grupo D, al vencer a Laura Molina/Marcela Ávalos, de El Salvador, por 2-0 (21-11, 21-7), y a sus compatriotas Betsi Flint/Kelley Larsen, por 2-0 (21-19, 21-19).

Reeves/McColloch ganaron la primera parada del Tour en Guatemala y sus compatriotas Kimberly Dicello/Kendra Vanzwieten se llevaron el primer lugar en

In the group B, was surprise the victory of the Valenciano/ Araya over Stephanie Burnside/ Zaira Orellana , of Mexico by 2-1 ( 21-17 14-21 17-15 ).

Meanwhile, another couple from Mexico, Claudia Rios/ Gloria Santoyo, finished with two wins, beating Claudia Machado/ Socorro Lopez of Nicaragua 2-0 (21-16, 21-11) and over Ana Villalobos/ Aury Alvarez, Guatemala, by 2-0 (21-7, 21-6) .
