BUILDING CULTURAL COMPETENCE IN THE WORKPLACE 2010 WORKSHOP WORKSHOP OVERVIEW This full day workshop will assist you to plan and implement a cultural competence framework for your workplace. It will focus on: Victorian legislative and policy context for multiculturalism and equal opportunity, the concepts of culture and how these relate to the workplace, the benefits of cultural diversity in the workplace, the concept of individual, professional and organisational cultural competence, ways to conduct a cultural competence audit of the workplace, and strategies to develop and implement a workplace cultural diversity plan. WHO IS THIS WORKSHOP DESIGNED FOR? This workshop will be relevant for professionals who have responsibility for the strategic or organisational planning and implementation of projects that improve the cultural competence of a workplace and/or the workforce. It will suit Executive Officers, HR Managers, Diversity Managers, Managers, Supervisors and Business owners from: Local and State Government, Not for profit sectors, Small Business, and the Health, Justice and Education sectors.
