Performing at your best when it comes to sales, can be the differ-ence between toasting to year-end success and scrambling to pay the bills.

Dale Carnegie’s powerful Sales Success is a program that will help create explosive sales growth.

Bill Buslepp, senior corporate specialist and partner at Dale Carn-egie Business Group, says that using an outside company for sales training makes sense for many organizations.

“Companies may not have the internal resources or the expertise needed to do this type of training, and do it well,” he says.

Using a program like Sales Success helps ground salespeople in the fundamentals needed to succeed, according to Buslepp.

“It provides people with a structure, something they can use when speaking with customers and prospects.”

And that structure leads to greater confidence.

“Programs like Sales Success help salespeople get in step with clients and lead them through the sales process,” Buslepp says.

Helping people meet the challenge of an ever-changing marketplace is impor-tant to Jeff Element.

As president of The Travel Corporation (Canada), he knows that the success of any organization depends on the ability of its people to navigate that change. So when his team needed to evaluate company strengths and challenges, Jeff decided to connect with Dale Carnegie Business Group.

“We reached a stage in our growth where we needed to step back and look at what strategies contributed to our success and which areas needed to be strengthened to elevate our business,” Jeff said.

“Working with Dale Carnegie has helped us to deconstruct our business, and create a foundation for future success.”

In the beginning, Jeff and the leadership team knew they wanted to create a more cohesive culture – a cul-ture that helps to build success now and in the future. That culture, that future, begins with people, and The Travel Corporation’s investment is paying off.

Dale Carnegie Business Group’s in-house training has helped to enhance leadership skills, improve communi-cation and build confidence in members of The Travel Corporation team. About 45 employees have complet-ed the Dale Carnegie Course, while another 20 have taken High Impact Presentations.

“At first, we focused on training for those managers and supervisors we believed had potential to become future leaders in our organization, as well as those individuals who needed some encouragement to help them come out of their shells,” he said.

That training led to improved confidence and better communication, resulting in stronger engagement and improved service for customers, according to Jeff. As well, teams across the company began to work more collaboratively, with employees and managers apply-ing what they had learned.

Building a foundation for success

The goal of The Travel Corporation (Canada) is to show the world to as many Canadians as possible, provid-ing travellers with a unique cultural experience – seeing their destination as someone local to that area would.

The Travel Corporation is an international group of more than 25 travel brands operating in over 70 countries worldwide. Global holiday opportunities include everything from escorted tours to river cruises to safaris to vacations for youth and couples, as well as independent travel.

Planning a holiday? Contact a local travel agent to book Travel Corporation packages. For those who like to do their own vacation planning, The Travel Cor-poration offers an online booking option. Experienced sales consultants can offer destination-specific information and recommendations to help travellers select their vacation package.

Tourism with a sustainable focus is a priority for The Travel Corporation. This focus led to the establishment of a conservation foundation known as the TreadRight Foundation.

The Travel Corporation team digs in during Earth Day celebrations.

Finding Sales Success

Continued from page 2

Now, regardless of their role in the organization, Jeff believes that Dale Carnegie has an offering that will challenge an employee and make them a more effective leader in their own right. That improved performance from people can have only a positive impact on a company’s bottom line.

“After working with Dale Carnegie, we have a clear-er vision of where we’re headed as an organization. And we are now able to more effectively communi-cate that vision throughout the organization.”

Sometimes, organizations develop tunnel vision. For Jeff, the diverse experience of the Dale Carnegie team – working with so many different organizations – made them a good choice as a training partner.

“A company like (Dale Carnegie) can draw on this experience, to assist you in navigating through your current challenges, and develop a clearer focus, so that you can better capitalize on future business op-portunities.”

From boardrooms of top corporations to offices of midsize and small busi-nesses, one question is on the minds of executives and owners alike.

How do we engage the Millennial worker? As organization leaders, we want our employees to believe in the prod-ucts and services we provide, to be our brand ambassadors. We want them to believe in our Vision.

The Dale Carnegie Course is proven to help boost engagement within the Millennial (also known as Generation Y) demographic.

Dale Carnegie and Associates just completed another round of research, focused on Millennials and engagement. Here’s what they found:

• In the workplace, 30% of all Millennials are engaged.

• For Millennials who have taken The Dale Carnegie Course, that en-gagement jumps to 47%.

What does that mean for your organization? Engagement among young workers could improve by 57%.

But the impact of The Dale Carnegie Course doesn’t end there. • In the general workforce, 39% of Millennials are likely to recommend

their company’s services or products to others.

• The Dale Carnegie Course has a significant impact, boosting that number to 66%!

The importance of that recommendation can’t be underestimated. As well, Millennials are connected in ways that previous generations were not – via Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Google+, blogging platforms and more.

Call today and learn how the Dale Carnegie Course can help your organization attract, inspire and retain younger workers.
