Basic concepts

1. All guided tours include local bilingual English speaking guide, except those specified in the chart.

2. Flights are not included. Please check at the time of booking the needed flights, as they are subject to frequent rescheduling.

Day 1 Buenos Aires. B D Arrival at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Early check in with breakfast included. In the afternoon, we make a panoramic tour of the city, exploring its most relevant landmarks: Plaza de Mayo, La Boca and finishing in Recoleta. In the evening, we attend a dinner show where we take a tango lesson, learn the basic steps of this rhythm, and then enjoy the magnetism of tango.

Day 2 Buenos Aires. B

Day at leisure to explore the city. Day 3 Buenos Aires /Bariloche B At due time, transfer to the airport to board the flight to Bariloche. Arrival and accommodation. In the afternoon, we explore Bariloche through the Small Circuit. Our trip borders the Nahuel Huapi Lake until we reach Campanario Hill, where we ascend to obtain great views of the surroundings lakes. Then, we arrive at a natural balcony from where it is possible to admire the Moreno Lake and Llao Llao Peninsula. After that tour, we participate in a craft beer tasting. Day 4 Bariloche. B Day at leisure in order to take optional activities. You can sail through Nahuel Huapi Lake, visit the Tronador Hill, which is ideal for the trekking lovers; or just explore the lakes region with the Big Circuit or the Lakes Corridor. Day 5 Bariloche/ El Calafate. B At due time, transfer to the airport to board the flight to El Calafate. Arrival and reception. Afternoon at leisure to explore the city, visit the Glaciarium, a museum dedicated to glaciology that will help you understand the magnificence of the glaciers that you will know during your stay, or attend a gastronomic experience. Day 6 El Calafate. B Visit to the Perito Moreno Glacier, located at Los Glaciares National Park and declared Humanity’s Natural Heritage. During the tour, a walk along the footbridges located in front of the glacier, allow us to admire this impressive natural wonder from different viewpoints. Durin the tour, we take a boat ride that will make you able to admire the glacier from water level. Free time for lunch and return. Day 7 El Calafate. B Day at leisure ideal to visit El Chaltén, Torres del Paine or sail though the Argentino Lake. Day 8 El Calafate /Puerto Iguazú. B Morning at leisure to explore El Calafate. At due time, transfer to the airport to board the flight to Puerto Iguazú. Arrival and accommodation. Day 9 Puerto Iguazú. B In the morning, we go to Iguazú National Park to visit the Iguazú Falls, declared a Natural Heritage Site by UNESCO and one of the Seven Modern Wonders of the Natural World. During the tour, we go through the three circuits of the Park: Garganta del Diablo, The Upper and The Lower Trails. Day 1 Buenos Aires. B D Arrival at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Early check in with breakfast included. In the evening, we attend a dinner show where we take a tango lesson, learn the basic steps of this rhythm, and then enjoy the magnetism of tango.

Day 2 Buenos Aires. B Day at leisure to explore Buenos Aires in your own way. Please, have a look at our optional tours.

Day 3 Buenos Aires / El Calafate. B At due time, transfer to the airport to board the scheduled flight to El Calafate. Arrival and reception at the airport. Afternoon at leisure to explore the city or visit the Glaciarium, a museum dedicated to glaciology that will help you understand the glaciers’ magnificence that you will know during your stay.

Day 4 El Calafate. B Departure from the hotel to the Perito Moreno Glacier, located in Los Glaciares National Park, a Natural Heritage Site. The glacier is an impressive river of ice with an area of 257 square kilometers (159 square miles), and a height of the front wall varies between 50 to 60 meters (165 to 200 ft.) above the level of the lake. During the tour, a walk along the footbridges located in front of the glacier, allow us to admire this impressive natural wonder from different viewpoints. This tour is enhanced by a 1-hour boat ride that provides a view of the glacier front of the glacier from the water level, which help us to appreciate its real height. Free time for lunch (not included). In the afternoon, return to the hotel.

Day 5 El Calafate. B Day at leisure to take an optional tour, ideal for visiting El Chaltén, Torres del Paine or making a boat trip through the Argentino Lake.

Day 6 El Calafate / Buenos Aires. B Free morning to enjoy El Calafate. In due time, transfer to the airport to board the scheduled flight to Buenos Aires. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Time at leisure.

Day 7 Buenos Aires / Puerto Iguazu. B At due time, transfer to the local airport to board the flight to Puerto Iguazú. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Accommodation. Time at leisure to relax at the hotel.

Day 8 Puerto Iguazú. B In the morning, we visit Iguazú National Park, Argentinian part of the falls, declared a Natural Heritage Site by UNESCO and one of the Seven Wonders of the Natural World. During the tour, we go through the three circuits of the Park: Garganta del Diablo (to reach the balcony and viewpoint of the most imposing falls of the Park), The Upper Trail (that provides a view of the falls from above) and The Lower Trail (that offers a closer contact with the vegetation and the falls). During the tour, free time to have lunch (not included) and to take optionally The Great Adventure. In the afternoon, return to the hotel. Day 9 Puerto Iguazú / Buenos Aires. B We leave Puerto Iguazú to get to Foz do Iguaçu in Brazil and visit the waterfalls on the Brazilian side. Once inside the reserve, as we walk along the only catwalk within the Brazilian Park we appreciate a panoramic view of the full arc of the falls, until reaching the lookout of Garganta del Diablo. Return to Puerto Iguazú to board the flight to Buenos Aires. Upon arrival, connection to the International Airport if necessary.

Day 1 Buenos Aires. B D Arrival at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Early check in with breakfast included. In the afternoon, we make a panoramic tour of the city. We start in Plaza de Mayo, witness to the most important events of the country since 1810. Here, we are able to learn about the current situation of the country, while we appreciate the surrounding buildings. We continue to the neighborhood of La Boca to walk along the famous Caminito alley and its colorful “conventillos”. Our last stop is Recoleta to discover the aristocratic part of the city. Back to the hotel. In the evening, we attend a dinner show where we take a tango lesson, learn the basic steps of this rhythm, and then enjoy the magnetism of tango. Day 2 Buenos Aires. B Day at leisure to enjoy an optional tour. Day 3 Buenos Aires / Ushuaia. B At due time, transfer to the airport to board the flight to Ushuaia. In the afternoon, boat trip through the Beagle Channel, gaining an excellent panoramic view of the city surrounded by mountains. During the trip, we spot De los Pájaros and De los Lobos islands (Birds and Sea lions’ Islands). This offers the unique rare opportunity to see, in the same colony both South American sea lions and the South American Fur seal, to understand their differences, and finally reach the Lighthouse of Les Eclaireurs. From mid-october to the ends of march, the boat trip continues till the Penguin Colony at Martillo Island where we can spot Gentoo penguins at a unique habitat. At the end, we sail back to the city.

Day 4 Ushuaia. B Departure from the hotel heading west to the Tierra del Fuego National Park, framed by excellent panoramic views of the Beagle Channel. A journey through beaver dams leads to Lapataia River and Verde Lagoon and then continues along the final stretch of National Route 3, which finally ends at Lapataia Bay. From here, the return to Ushuaia begins, making a stop on the way to admire the Acigami Lake (former Roca Lake), notable by its changed-by-weather water's colour. After the tour, we return to the hotel. Afternoon at leisure to continue discovering the destination. If you are a nature lover, we suggest you should visit Martillo Island, one of the few sites where it is possible to walk with Papuan penguins. However, if you prefer landscapes, we recommend you explore the lakes area and experiment the adrenaline in a 4x4 excursion. Check the available options according to your trip date.

Day 5 Ushuaia / El Calafate. B Transfer to the airport to board the scheduled flight to El Calafate. Arrival, transfer and accommodation. Afternoon at leisure to tour the town or to visit the Glaciarium Ice Museum that helps us to understand the relevance of the glaciers that we will be visiting the next few days.

Day 6 El Calafate. B Departure from the hotel towards Perito Moreno Glacier, located in Los Glaciares National Park, which thanks to its breathtaking beauty, has been declared a Natural Heritage Site by UNESCO. The glacier is an impressive mass of ice with an area of 257 square kilometres and a front wall that has a height between 50 and 60 meters (165 to 200 ft.) above lake level. During the tour, a walk along the paths located in front of the glacier, allows us to admire this impressive natural wonder from different viewpoints. This tour is enhanced by a 1-hour boat ride, which allows us to enjoy a different perspective of the glacier front wall from the water level. Free time for lunch (not included). In the afternoon, return to the hotel. Day 7 El Calafate. B Day at leisure to take optional tours, ideal for visiting El Chaltén, Torres del Paine or making a boat trip through the Argentino Lake. Day 8 El Calafate / Buenos Aires. B Time at leisure to explore the town of El Calafate, until the transfer to the airport. Meet and greet at Buenos Aires’ airport and transfer to the hotel. We walk to a lighthouse where we can appreciate the beauty of the vegetation and geography. Day 6 Australis Cruise – Pía Glacier – Garibaldi Glacier B L D We start the day sailing through the northwestern arm of the Beagle Channel to land at the Pía fiord to walk towards its lighthouse. In the afternoon, we enter the Garibaldi fiord to have a walk to the base of a glacial waterfall. Return to the cruise. Day 7 Australis Cruise – Agostini Sine – Águila Glacier – Cóndor Glacier B L D Today we push out into the Agostini Sine, where it is possible to appreciate the glaciers that comes down from the centre of the Darwin Mountain Range, some of them reach the sea. During the morning, we land in Zodiac boats to make a smooth walk around a lagoon emerged from the Águila glacier. In the afternoon, we return to the Zodiac boats to come closer to the Cóndor Glacier. We learn about the formation of the glaciers and its influence in the Sharp geography of the Patagonian channels. Day 8 Australis Cruise / Puerto Natales B Early in the morning we arrive at Magdalena Island, if the climatic conditions allow it, we must stop at the supply place of ancient sailors and discoverers. Day 9 Torres del Paine B L Full day excursion at the Torres del Paine National Park. The park was declared Biosphere Reserve by the UNESCO in 1978. The variety of flora and fauna along the landscapes and geography make of this area one of the most idea places to practice adventure sports. We admire lakes as the Sarmiento, Nordenskjold and Pehoe, etc. The fauna you may observe are foxes, guanacos and other species. During the trip, there is a huge variety of birds to see. We take a short walk towards the Salto Grande, which is a part of the water supply system of the park. The circuit continues to the administration to lead until de Grey Lake, where is possible to take a short 30-minute walk through a native Wood to reach the lakes’ coast and admire the icebergs that break off the glacier. Box Lunch. Return to the hotel. Accommodation. Day 10 Puerto Natales / El Calafate B Regular shuttle to El Calafate. Arrival and reception. Accommodation. Day 11 El Calafate B Way out from the hotel to the Perito Moreno Glacier, located at Los Glaciares National Park. The Perito Moreno Glacier is an impressive mass of ice that descends from the Southern Ice Field, causing detachments during its advance, which makes it the only glacier in the world that is constantly moving. This is an awesome sight, not only for its beauty, but also for the detachments’ roars. It was declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO. This tour is enhanced by a 1-hour boat ride that provides a view of the glacier front of the glacier from the water level, which help us to appreciate its real height. Day 1 Buenos Aires B D Arrival at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Early check in with breakfast included. In the afternoon, we make a panoramic tour of the city. We start at Plaza de Mayo, witness to the most important events of the country from 1810, to then continue to the neighbourhood of La Boca and finish at Palermo and Recoleta. In the evening, we attend a dinner show where we take a tango lesson, learn the basic steps of this rhythm, and then enjoy the magnetism of tango.. Day 2 Buenos Aires/ Los Antiguos B/L Transfer to the airport to board the flight to Comodoro Rivadavia. After our arrival, we begin the trip to Los Antiguos, a town near the border with Chile. On the way, we stop at the Petrified Forest of José Ormachea where not only we have lunch (box lunch) but also we walk through the desolate and barren landscape. Late arrival at Los Antiguos, located on the coast of Buenos Aires Lake, the largest one in South America after Titicaca Lake. Travelled distance: 490 km (304 miles) Travel time: 7-8 hours Day 3 Los Antiguos / Marble Chapels / Los Antiguos B/L Today we cross the border into Chile to reach Chile Chico. Once we carry out the migratory process, we begin to border the General Carreras Lake by a mountain road. As we move forward, we enter a zone of wooded vegetation and then reach a bay, where we embark to sail to the curious formation of the Marble Chapels. This natural monument, formed by water erosion, features three 4-meter (13 ft.) high mineral formations: the Marble Cathedral, the Marble Chapel and the Marble Cave. During the boat trip, we have the chance to access some of their corners. At the end, we take lunch (box lunch) and then return to Los Antiguos. Travelled distance: 490 km (304 miles) Travel time: 9-10 hours Day 4 Los Antiguos/ Ruta del Zeballos/ Lago Posadas B/L We travel along Route 41, one of the most beautiful routes in the entire Patagonia, that connects Los Antiguos with Lago Posadas and allow us to enter in some of the Argentinian Patagonia Park’s landscapes. We start from Lago Buenos Aires at 220 m above sea level and start so ascend to the top of the plateau at 1500 MASL in order to go through four well-differentiated environments: steppe, Andean forest, high grassland and the high mountain. That journey lead us to a viewpoint towards the impressive Monte San Lorenzo (3.706 mts – 12.158 ft.) and then, we descend to the valleys of the Posadas and Pueyrredón Lakes. After lunch at some panoramic point, we will explore the Jurassic Coast of Lago Posadas, Arco de Piedra, Cueva del Puma, the dry lagoons of different colours and the Isthmus that separates Posadas Lake from Pueyrredón Lake. Day 5 Lago Posadas/ El Chaltén B L Departure from Lago Posadas towards “el Cañadón del Río Pinturas”. In its interior and after a brief walk we reach the Patagonia’s main archaeological site, declared a Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999. “Cueva de las Manos” (Painted Hands Cave) shows 9000 years of history through the pre-tehuelche’s culture cave paintings. Day 6 El Chaltén B A Today we spend our day walking along one of the emblematic paths of El Chaltén: Torre Lagoon, where we get an impressive view of Mt. Torre, Adela Mountain Range, Mt. Solo and various glaciers. Difficulty: intermediate Walking time: 7-8 hours Day 7 El Chaltén/ El Calafate B Free time to take an optional hike, such as Cóndor Lagoon or De Los Cóndores Viewpoint. You can also take a Safari to Del Desierto Lake, to enjoy the dazzling landscape of the leafy forests of Lengas (Nothofagus Beech), a paradise of centenary trees. Travelled distance to El Calafate: 217 km (134,8 miles) Travel time: 3-4 hours. Day 8 El Calafate B Visit to the Perito Moreno Glacier, within Los Glaciares National Park, declared a Natural Heritage Site by UNESCO. Day 7 Salta/ Puerto Iguazú B Morning at leisure. At due time transfer to the airport to embark towards Puerto Iguazu. Arrival and accommodation. Day 8 Puerto Iguazú B L In the morning, we visit Iguazú National Park, Argentinian part of the falls, which has been declared Natural Heritage Site and one of the Seven Wonders of the Natural World. During the tour, we go through the three circuits of the park: Garganta Del Diablo (to reach the balcony and viewpoint of the most imposing waterfall of the park), The Upper (that provides a vertical view) and The Lower (that offers a closer contact with the vegetation and the falls). During the tour, time for lunch (included) and optional chance to take The Great Adventure, an excursion that combines a boat ride at the foot of some waterfalls and a crossing through the jungle. In the afternoon, return to the hotel. Day 9 Puerto Iguazú / Buenos Aires B We leave Puerto Iguazú to get Foz do Iguaçu in Brazil and visit the waterfalls in the Brazilian side. We enter the park and walk along the only path that leads to the viewpoint of Garganta del Diablo. While we walk, we are able to appreciate a panoramic view of almost all the falls. Day 6 Tolar Grande / Antofagasta de la Sierra. B L D Before leaving Tolar Grande, we visit Ojos de Mar (Sea Eyes), lagoons of turquoise water, that contain some curious microorganisms. We begin our way to Antofagasta passing by Antofalla Salt Flat, the largest of Argentina. After lunch, we ascend through the barren scenery of the Calaste Gorge and finally reach Antofagasta de la Sierra. Travelled distance: 283 km (176 miles) Travel time: 09/10 hours Max. Altitude: 4.620 MASL (15.157 ft.) Day 7 Antofagasta de la Sierra B L D We start the trip to Galán Volcano, the largest crater on the planet. On the way there, we pass by the Grande Lagoon (4.150 MASL-13.615 ft.), which has been declared RAMSAR Site (International Treaty of Conservation and Rational Use of Humidity) because during summer months it attracts a population of over 10.000 flamingos. Once inside the crater we see the Diamond Lagoon, a striking mirror due to the colour of its waters. Travelled distance: 350 km (217 miles) Travel time: 12 hours Max. Altitude: 4.760 MASL (15.617 ft.) Day 8 Antofagasta de la Sierra/ Cafayate. B L We leave the village to start the road to Cafayate. After a few kilometers, we enter a secondary trail to arrive at one one of the jewels of the Catamarca’s Puna: The Pómez Stone Field. We immerse in a trail while we admire the Carachi Pampa Volcano and its lava field. Once we arrive there, we descend and walk through a stone field, result of millenary erosion, which because of its importance was declared a Natural Protected Area. After a time at leisure, we continue towards Cafayate by De Randolfo Slope and Barranca Larga Hualfin and De Los Quilmes Ruins, finally arriving at Cafayate. Travelled distance: 458 km (285 miles) Travel time: 11 hours Max. Altitude: 4.050 MASL (13.287 ft.) Day 9 Cafayate/ Salta. B L After a short visit to the small city and lunch.
