Dr. Hill is in her 13th year teaching Mathematics. She has been working with students ranging from 9th grade through college undergraduates during her career. Dr. Hill enjoys teaching but when she is not at school, she spends time with her husband, reading, crocheting, and watching her favorite shows (Survivor, NCIS, and Big Bang Theory).

OVERVIEW
Bridge Math is a course intended to build upon concepts taught in previous courses to allow students to gain a deeper knowledge of the real and complex number systems as well as the structure, use, and application of equations, expressions, and functions. Functions emphasized include linear, quadratic and polynomial. Students continue mastery of geometric concepts such as similarity, congruence, right triangles, and circles. Students use categorical and quantitative data to model real life situations and rules of probability to compute probabilities of compound events.

The Seamless Alignment and Integrated Learning Support (SAILS) program targets students who have not achieved college readiness benchmarks by introducing the college developmental curriculum into the high school senior year. Developed by K-12 teachers and higher education faculty, SAILS embeds the Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) Learning Support competencies into the high school senior year math course, allowing students to begin their higher education career prepared for credit-bearing coursework. SAILS utilizes a facilitated hybrid instructional model, combining the professional pedagogical expertise of the certified teacher with dynamic properties of multimedia and digital content. Research supports that this blended system of teaching and learning is the most effective at engaging students with their work, and increases their success rate.
