Lead researcher on cutting-edge Research and Development (R&D) projects related to solid-state thin film
semiconductor devices and solar cells, photo-electrochemical cells, thin-film manufacturing diagnostics, and
structural characterization of crystalline, polycrystalline, nano-scale and amorphous materials.
Co-principal investigator for key contracts between the Institute of Energy Conversion (IEC) and US
Government, university and private institutions, including Ascent Solar, Inc., BP Solar, Corning Inc,
Defense Advanced Research Program Agency, General Electric, IBM, ISET. Inc., Japan New Energy and
Industrial Technology Development Organization, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, PrimeStar
Solar, Standard Oil Company of Ohio, Spire, Inc., University of Toledo.
Contributing researcher on advanced collaborative R&D with numerous groups worldwide.
Invited participant at innovative DOE SunShot workshops (2012-2013).
Principal manager of materials characterization labs at IEC (XRD, GIXRD, XPS, SEM, EDS, XRF, EL,
PL).
Co-advisor of graduate student research.
