Three days of classes left! THREE DAYS!

Can you believe it, Brescia? We made it! Semester one is almost done, and we survived. Congratulations!

We only have a short exam period standing between us and the holiday break, so push through! We’ll be “free” very soon.

I just wanted to take a moment and say Thank You to all who read The Brescia Buzz every time it is released. You are all amazing human beings for taking the time to read this little newsletter, and it sure means a lot to me!

Mental Health Awareness Week Recap As this week is coming to an end, I would like to thank everyone for all their help! With the stress of life especially with school, this week has hopefully helped everyone to take a step back and remember that self care is essential to our health and well being. There are a lot of resources and always remember that the BUCSC has your back.

Brescia Christmas Party Recap This past Sunday the BUCSC and Campus Ministry hosted the annual Children's Christmas Party. It was a great afternoon of celebration for all members of the Brescia community and their families. Everyone enjoyed some treats, crafts and a visit from Jolly Old Saint Nick!

Awards Ceremony Recap On November 22nd 2015, the BUCSC was able to recognize some amazing student leaders at Brescia's annual Awards Ceremony. Thank you to everyone who not only took the time to apply for the awards during the busyness of being a student and life’s other responsibilities, but thank you for your contributions to Brescia's community and beyond! Remember, when you believe in yourself, you will be unstoppable... Continue to take risks, chances, and opportunities that you didn't think you were ready for. Don't forget to apply for awards next year if you meet the criteria—the BUCSC loves to recognize students for their involvement, and it is our hope to give students the encouragement to continue to keep leading and inspiring others to follow. Congratulations again, award winners!

Worried about Exams? Don’t be! Just think that everyone else is going through the exact same things right now, and you’re not alone. If you’re stressed, take a break! If you need help, create a study group or go see your professor during office hours! Just remember that we’re all in the same boat, and we believe in you!

What is Council Up To over the Holidays?Caitie Cheeseman—President “I plan to snuggle with my dog, spend time with family, and read Mindy Kaling’s new book!”

Deanna Vezina—VP Communications “I will be baking roughly a billion cookies and working just as much this break…”

Cadence Rhamey—VP Events “This Christmas I am excited for my whole family to meet my amazing girlfriend back home in Niagara Falls! Hopefully there will be a lot of tobogganing & David’s Tea!”

Josie Baker—VP Academics “Dear Brescia Students,I hope everyone is getting in the holiday spirit, and if not yet, soon will be! One of my favourite things about this holiday season are the moments with my family and loved ones that you can’t forget. I am so blessed to not only spend Christmas with my immediate family but also my boyfriend’s family in Indiana for a week! *Insert jumps of joy* I hope that everyone is able to take the time out of their busy lives and share the special moments of the holidays with family, friends, or even a furry friend. Remember to take time for yourself and a cup of tea here and there (it never hurts). Good luck on exams, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year’s everyone!”

Brittany White—Brescia Ball Commissioner “My plans for the holidays are to continue to plan Brescia Ball and relax at home for a family Christmas. This year my dad is cutting a tree from our farm and we have decided to make homemade decorations for it.”

Brittani Schroeder—Brescia Buzz Editor “I’ll be going home to Brantford briefly for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and will be working in London for the rest of the break. It’ll be really nice to see my friends and my family while I’m home.”

Brittany Ennis—Website Commissioner “I’m going to Florida for Christmas! Disneyworld ad Seaworld.”

Emily DeGuast—Special Events Commissioner “My plans for the holidays include buying a Brescia Ball dress, having a full day of tobogganing, baking, and watching Frozen with my 6 year old cousin. I’m also going to be planning Wine & Cheese decor, spending New Year’s in Niagara Falls, and enjoying some much needed rest and relaxation with my family.”

Eunice Choi—International Student Representative “I’m going to be visiting my friends in Toronto, baking, and spending time with my family while watching lots of Christmas movies!”

Bahareh Manesh—Awareness Commissioner “Dear Brescia,Thank you for reading our little holiday card to you! I’ll be taking the train home from London to Ottawa (for the first time!). That’s 8 hours of Netflix right there! I’ll be catching up with my cat, Prince Charles—I’ve missed 4 whole months of his life! I’m probably going to be going out for breakfast food; doesn’t matter what time of day. I’ll mostly be spending time with friends, playing Just Dance, and going out for more food. I hope your holiday break is filled with love, laughter, and most importantly, FOOD!”

Sophie Prive—Formal Events Commissioner “Over the holidays I’m going to be working at winter camp with the city, spending time with my grandparents in Quebec, and hopefully baking a lot of christmas goodies!”
