Model E601Heavy Duty Pre-primary Belt ScraperAPPLICATIONS: As a Pre-Primary Scraper, working in the head pulley zone, not in contact with the belt. Used in conjunction with BRELKO Primary and Secondary scrapers. Particularly suited for mud-rush and severe carry back situations. Suitable for all types of conveyor belts and metal fastener systems.

FEATURES: Adjustable BRELKO torsion twist tensioners allow the scraper to maintain a constant pressure against the material flow, are self adjusting and allow the

scraper to deflect away from any obstruction, as a significant safety feature. Multi-blade construction in wear resistant steel for impact situations or ceramic blades for non-impact high abrasion situations or conditions. What is often not so well known is the magnitude of the problem and by way of illustration let’s look at the following example:

Removal of last 1/10th mm residue film, if only 30% of this film drops from the lower belt face, this means in case of a 1000 millimetre wide conveyor belt at a speed of 2 meter per second (400 FT/Min):

INCREASING PRESSURE ON THE BLADE HAS NOEFFECT ON IMPROVING CLEANING EFFICIENCY

1. Oncoming material must stop it’s momentum completely and fall away from the blade vertically.2. Material build-up occurs not only on the scraper blade but also in front of the blade.3. With the movement of the blade and material, mass turbulence is created in the corner of the leading

edge of the blade.4. An entrainment angle is then produced which draws the oncoming material and increase belt surface

wear.5. This produces two negatives: inefficient belt cleaning, and increased belt surface wear.6. Increasing pressure on the blade has no effect on improving cleaning efficiency.

1. Inherent design problem – already has an entrainment angle which will accelerate the drawing of oncoming material between the blade and the belt.

STEP -1:By means of spindle nuts adjust the scraper towards the belt surface until all the blades contact the belt surface.

STEP -2:Adjust the scraper one further full turn of the spindle nuts towards the belt. .

STEP -3:Start the conveyor and check if all blades are moving freely and scraping in full contact with the belt surface. If further adjustment is required, stop the conveyor and adjust the scraper one further turn of the spindle nuts towards the belt until all blades are scraping satisfactory.
