E. Section 23 98 00 – HVAC InstrumentationADD new Item 2.04 as follows:

2.04 CONTROL VALVESAll control valves shall be furnished under this Section.1. Control valves: Valves shall be constructed with not less than 125 PSI water body and shall

be leak proof under a static head of 125 PSI. Gradual acting valves shall throttle the flow of water by means of V-port throttling type plugs. Valves shall be suitable for the temperature, pressure, and service specified. Valves shall provide 100 percent tight shut-off.a. Valves for water service shall be capable of shutting off against a 50 PSI

differential.b. Valve capacities shall be as scheduled and/or indicated on the Drawings.

2. Valves 2" and smaller: Screwed.a. Maximum allowable valve pressure drop at full flow is 5 PSIG.

3. Provide actuators for all control valves.

F. Section 23 98 50 – HVAC Sequences of Operations1. In Item 3.02.P, ADD new paragraph as follows:

A remote mounted “Emergency Boiler Shut-off Switch” shall be provided at each door to manually shut off all power to the boiler system. Switch shall be suitably labeled and located behind a protective clear cover.

G. Section 40 91 00

1. 2.3, F. CHANGE ASTM number from A126 to A-351. The butterfly disc material shall be stainless steel.

2. 2.4, B. Limit switches are not required on the pneumatic actuators. The valves/actuator combo shall be factory verified to fully open and close with the limits set at the factory. Any valves that fail to fully open or seat closed shall be replaced by the supplier.

3. 2.4, B. A question arose regarding the actuators mounting to the valves. The mounting kit

shall be supplied factory attached. The configuration to prevent conflicts with adjacent pipes and walls shall be field verified with the contractor prior to shipment. The materials shall be either factory powder coated or stainless steel to prevent on-site corrosion. No field painting will be allowed due to the difficulty in access to provide a complete coating system.

4. 2.4 B. 1. b. 2) ADD “or zinc plated ductile iron”.

There are no locations in the plant design that require vacuum protection. The filter effluent/clearwell influent pipe will discharge above the clearwell water surface.

diameters shown in the specification are maximums to ensure the tanks will fit within the spaces provided. The height of the tanks is not critical.

2. 2.3, A and B. CLARIFICATIONS. The “55 Gallon Neat Polymer Drum” shown on Drawing

Detail 2/D5.07 is a Flocculant chemical steel barrel supplied and left at the site. The “55 Gallon Neat Polymer Drum” shown on Drawing Detail 1/D5.07 should have stated a polymer TANK for the Coagulant. The tank will be on a scale with a minimum capacity of 55 gallons should the supplier bring a 55 gallon drum to pump into this tank.

3. 2.4, B. ADD. “4. The Fluoride tank shall be supplied as a double wall containment tank. No

exterior chemical containment shall be provided within the Fluoride Room due to space constraints.”

N. Section 46 33 451. 2.2. A. 1. ADD Pulsafeeder Pumps to approved manufactures.2. 2.2. B. 1. ADD Verder Pumps to approved manufactures.

O. Section 46 43 531. 1.2. B. 3. The rise rate of 1.2 gpm/ft2 should be 1.25 gpm/ft2.2. 1.2. B. 4. Change the detention time from 130 minutes to 90 minutes.3. 1.2. B. 5. Disregard the recirculation rate. Each manufacture has a different analysis for

optimum recirculation. The manufacture shall supply the unit to land the optimum recirculation rate within the average operation range of the VFD speed.

4. 1.2. C. 1. The manufacture shall be allowed to provide data of an effluent quality on an identical water source to verify or come within 10% of the specified effluent data on a laboratory tested bench scale test.

5. 2.1. A. 3. The sludge rake mechanism does not require a VFD. Utilize the specified system in

Paragraph 2.1.C.1.6. 2.1. B. 3. Each manufacture utilizes a different drive mechanism and gear system. The

manufacture shall provide a drive mechanism that provides the intent and performance specified and warrantee items required.

7. 2.1. E. 1. The same applies to the drive shaft assembly. A cage, draft tube, or shaft drive are acceptable.

8. 2.1. E. 4. The floor slope shall be 8%. The fillet should be a minimum of 9.5” up the wall at the 10 foot distance from the center.

9. 2.1. G. The launders are intended to be peripheral attached to the walls. The manufacture can supply radial launders to control the upflow based upon unit performance.

10. 2.2. A. 10. Stainless steel does not require epoxy finishes.

P. Section 46 51 111. 2.2. B. 2&5. The manufactures standard doors and inspection hatches are acceptable provided

they allow complete access and inspection of the aerator interior.2. 2.1. C. 2. a. ADD “at a maximum loading rate of 25 gpm/ft. The unit should be a minimum of

6’-4” square.3. 2.2. C. 1. A distribution box shall be allowed in lieu of spray nozzles. Either system shall

supply a complete even distribution of water over the entire area of the aeration plates.

Q. Section 46 71 131. 1.4. B. 1. ADD Running Torque designed to run approximately 30,000 ft-lbs unless

manufacture provides test data otherwise. Manufacture to provide Torque overload stops at a values not to exceed to prevent equipment damage.

2. 2.1. F. 2. The rake lowering and raising mechanism shall automatically raise on over torque but lower on manual control switch. Automatic lowering of rake shall not be provided.

3. 2.1. G. 1. B. The stairway will be provided by the Manufacture. The height shall be verified with the Contractor from finished floor to height of the support beams. The distance will be dictated by normal stair dimensions and the bridge support height.

4. 2.1. G. 1 and 2. The Gravity Thickener grating and deck plate can match the requirements for the Solids Contact Basin for consistency. The walkway and deck plate around the drive units can be 3/16” plate.

5. 2.1. H. 2. 304 stainless steel is acceptable for the feedwell.6. 3.4. B and C. The Installation and Start-up Service Trips can be combined into 2 trips with 4

days onsite.

1. CHANGE the air supply pipe size from 8-inch to 4-inch for Equipment Key items 7, 8, and 9.
