Although 2014 is Colin’s second BTCC victory, this is his first Silver Star. The full final standings for the Silver Star are detailed at the end of this Newsletter.

WALTER HAYES TROPHY – SATURDAY 1 & SUNDAY 2 NOVEMBER The last event of the season will be the Walter Hayes Trophy on 1-2 November and this will host Silverstone’s annual Fireworks display on Sunday evening. The Clubhouse will be open 9am – 5pm on Saturday serving a 2/3 course lunch and 9am – 6pm on Sunday serving a carvery. CAMPSITE SHUTDOWN A reminder that the campsite will close for winter after the Walter Hayes meeting on 1-2 November. If you have a motorhome on the campsite please can you ensure it is removed as soon as reasonably possible after the meeting.

McLAREN AUTOSPORT BRDC YOUNG DRIVER OF THE YEAR Congratulations to the following who have been selected as finalists for this year’s McLaren AUTOSPORT BRDC Young Driver of the Year Award. MEMBERS’ SOCIAL LUNCH AND FALCONRY DISPLAY – WEDNESDAY 19 NOVEMBER 2014

The next social lunch for Members and their Guests is to be held on Wednesday 19 November. It will include after lunch a delightful opportunity to enjoy a stunning Falconry display from local falconers Karen and John who will be displaying their birds of prey on the lawn outside the clubhouse. The display will include Harris Hawks, a Lanner Falcon and two Hybrid Falcons, a Gyr/Saker and Gyr/Peregrine. Weather permitting the birds will then be moved to the BRDC Farm and shown flying to the fist and to the lure. All are welcome to watch. Lunch will cost just £6 per Member and primary guest if booked in advance. BRDC FILM NIGHT - WEDNESDAY 19 NOVEMBER 2014

We are now taking bookings for our BRDC winter film night on 19 November to be held in the Auditorium of the Silverstone Wing. BRDC Member Neville Hay will be presenting seldom seen motor racing footage from the first Silverstone Grand Prix in 1948, the XK120 debut at Silverstone and coverage of the 1949, 1950 and 1951 Silverstone Grand Prix. Members are welcome to bring guests; the cost per person is at £29 and includes:

WINTER GOLF DAY – MONDAY 3 NOVEMBER 2014 We are still taking bookings for the BRDC Winter Golf Day at Hampton Court Palace Golf Club on Monday 3 November 2014. Set in the grounds of Hampton Court Palace near Kingston upon Thames in Surrey, the golf club has the enviable accolade of being the only course in the country set within the grounds of a Royal Park. Entries are open to BRDC Members and their guests and the day will cost £45 incl. VAT per person, this will include tea, coffee and bacon rolls on arrival, 18 holes of golf and a 2 course lunch.
