Camp Itinerary: Day 1: Touching Down in Scotland (D) Arrive Glasgow or Edinburgh. Transfer to hostel in Perthshire and overnight. On arrival in Glasgow/Edinburgh, the group is met at the airport and transferred to the Perthshire Highlands (transfer: 2 hours). As we journey north, the Highland scenery begins with mountains, forests and lakes. We overnight in a hostel in a small Highland village.

Day 2: Entering The Majestic Highlands (B,L,D) We start with a bang with a day of high wire forest adventure as we take on the longest and highest zip l ine in the UK – over 400m long! Overnight Perthshire. Today we have a high adrenaline challenge as the group visits an exciting high wire forest adventure. Under supervision from trained instructors, we climb high into the forest canopy for a high level adventure, with the stunning scenery of the surrounding Queen Elizabeth Forest Park providing a jaw-dropping backdrop. The course involves a series of challenges including rope bridges and zip wires, including Britain’s two longest zip wires, each stretching over 400m long, flying students 150 feet above ground over a 90 foot waterfall.

Day 3: Survival In The Forest (B,L,D) Mountain biking in morning. Transfer to Cairngorms National Park. In the afternoon, the group wil l build shelters in the forest where they wil l stay for the next 3 nights. Travelling north, we visit one of Scotland’s top mountain biking centers where we get the chance to ride some of the top trails in Scotland. Our bike guides will teach basic mountain bike skills before leading an exciting trail through the forests. After lunch we transfer to Cairngorms National Park. We leave the bus and walk to a clearing in the forest and we set up camp here. This will be our base for the next few days.

Day 4: Exploration Extreme (B,L,D) Morning of navigation skil ls. Afternoon hike putt ing the skil ls into practice. Overnight camp in forest. Today we learn some new outdoor skills that will help us with the challenges that lie ahead. Our guides teach the group a variety of navigation techniques and then we explore part of the Cairngorms National Park, using some of the navigation techniques we learned. Day 5: Reaching Out To The Skies (B,L,D) A hike up Ben MacDui – the 2nd highest mountain in Scotland. A long but rewarding day. Overnight camp in forest. Leaving our camp early morning, we set out to climb Ben MacDui, the 2nd highest mountain in the UK at 1,319m. Not only is it a high mountain, it is also a very remote peak which adds to the challenge. The approach to the mountain takes us past towering cliffs before we climb steeply up to a high plateau, which is said to be haunted by the ‘Grey Man of Ben MacDui’ – a Yeti-like creature. Using the navigation skills we have learned, we cross the plateau and endure a final climb to the summit. It’s a long walk back down too, so the group will return to the forest camp tired and looking forward to bed!

Day 6: Witnessing White-water (B,L,D) White water raft ing trip. Overnight hostel in Cairngorms. A fun day today after the exertions of the previous day. We go whitewater rafting on a local river, facing rapids up to Grade III. This is great fun and most people will end up in the river at some stage! Overnight in the hostel.
