Overview

Grant agreement

We do not require acknowledgement of our funding; it is not obligatory for you to use our logo or to menon our funding. However, if you feel that menoning our funding or using our logo would enhance your programme or organisaon, please follow the informaon outlined in this secon.

Your grant agreement includes basic details about communicaons guidelines. This text includes the following:

“Oak Foundaon may include informaon on this grant in its own periodic public reports. You are authorised to list this Oak Foundaon grant in your own publicaons. However, should you wish to go beyond the simple recognion of our foundaon, we request that you obtain our approval beforehand as to the wording and content you intend to use. In addion, we may share informaon on this grant on our website and through social media. You may also share details on your website and through social media”

Name usage Correct: Oak Foundaon or OakIncorrect: The Oak Foundaon or OAK

For the first reference, please refer to Oak as ‘Oak Foundaon’. You may use ‘Oak’ or ‘the Foundaon’ on second reference.

Language to describe Oak

If you would like to include text about Oak, please use the following pre-approved language:

“Oak Foundaon commits its resources to address issues of global, social and environmental concern, parcularly those that have a major impact on the lives of the disadvantaged. With offices in Europe, India and North America, we make grants to organisaons in approximately 40 countries worldwide.”

In January 2016 Oak revised its logo. The new version features small changes that will improve its appearance on mobile devices. If your organisaon is using an older version of Oak’s logo, you can request a new logo; however, this is not obligatory. The logo is available in three colour versions in eps, jpg and png formats. The logo may not be animated, italicised, rotated, stretched out of proporon or otherwise changed. The size of the logo may be adjusted to your requirements and should be presented in proporon or smaller in size to any other logos on the same page or in the same publicaon.

Please contact the Communicaons Department if you would like to use Oak’s logo.

Blue logo This is the primary logo for Oak Foundaon. This version should be used on a white background.

Black logoThis version should be used when prinng in black and white.

Negave (white) logo This version should be used when the logo needs to be placed on a dark coloured background.

Acknowledging your grant

Discretionary grants

Please use the following language to acknowledge your grant:

“Oak Foundaon has funded [partner name] with [USD ...] for [insert duraon] to [insert purpose as described in our online grant database or in the email exchange with Virginia Ruan, if the grant has not been published yet].”

Or, more simply, “this [project] was possible thanks to the support of Oak Foundaon.”

Please contact the Communicaons Department to discuss any references to Oak beyond the above phrases. In addion, we ask you to please not menon the names of Oak Foundaon staff in any publicaons, unless approved by your programme officer and the Communicaons Department.

We do not list or describe discreonary grants in our annual reports; we only provide the total amount of funding provided to organisaons in discreonary grants. For these reasons, while an organisaon may record the contribuon as coming from Oak Foundaon (e.g., in its annual reports), it should not use the Oak logo without prior permission from the President (delivered through the Communicaons Department).
