TAKE AND MAKE CRAFT PACKAGES (All Ages)Enjoy a pre-cut craft at home. Included is an information sheet providing craft instructions, book titles that support the craft’s theme, and related songs, fingerplays and hand-rhymes. The goal is to encourage parents to create a storytime of their very own! Stop by the Children’s Unit at Main and pick up a package today!

DRAWING 101 (All Ages)Tuesdays (No session on Nov. 25)3:30 - 4:30 p.m. Join us for this weekly afterschool special. If your child enjoys drawing and coloring, register today for our art class for beginners. We will introduce children to the basics of drawing using pencils, markers, crayons and color sticks. The class is geared toward pre-school – first grade, however, all ages are welcome.

LEGO CLUB (All Ages)Wednesdays (No sessions on Nov. 12, 26)3:30 - 4:30 p.m.If you can’t get enough of Legos, then join our Lego club! There’s a different building assignment every week. Come join the fun with your fellow Lego maniacs, and let’s get building!

*KINDERGARTEN READINESS PROGRAM/EVERY CHILD READY TO READ (Pre-school)Thursdays (No session on Nov. 27) 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.Pack a quick snack, kiss them on the head and send them off to class. This weekly program simulates a real classroom setting. Introducing children to the alphabet, numbers, shapes and colors, sprinkled with stories, songs and music. It prepares children to be away from mom and dad, while introducing them to circle time, sharing and playing with others. It also addresses the anxiety of being away from mom and dad by getting them accustomed to saying goodbye for one hour each week.

CRAFT-A-PALOOZA! (Pre-school)Fridays (No Session on Nov. 28)3:30 - 4:30 p.m.Craft-a-palooza is designed to enhance hand/eye coordination and to encourage creativity. Join us for a weekly craft session, which introduces some of our favorite storybook characters. From Arthur to Dora the Explorer, they are all waiting for you at our pre-school movie (30 minutes) and craft special.

XBOX CHALLENGE (6-12)Saturdays (No sessions on Sep. 20; Oct. 4, 18; Nov. 1, 15, 29)3:30 - 4:30 p.m.Come and compete for the Xbox championship, as you exhibit your gaming skills against your best friends, your siblings, your parents and maybe your favorite librarian. Bring it on!

DISNEY MATINEE (All Ages)Sundays (No movie on Nov. 23, 30)3 - 4:30 p.m. Introduce your child to some of your childhood favorites, and fall in love all over again with the magic of Walt Disney. Each week unveils a host of unforgettable Disney characters from Snow White to adorable 101 Dalmatians. Join us for this whimsical series of classics.

NATIONAL LIBRARY CARD SIGN-UP MONTH (All Ages)Sep. 1 - 30“When can my child get a library card?” At birth! It is never too soon to introduce your child to the library and all the wonderful services and materials it holds. Register for a library card at the Main Library Children’s Unit during the month of September, and receive a goody bag filled with really cool stuff, including a free book!

PUZZLE MANIA (All Ages)Mondays, Sep. 8; Oct. 13; Nov. 103:30 - 4:30 p.m.Are you a whiz at puzzles? Is there no puzzle that can stump you? If you are a puzzler, then come join the fun. Large puzzles, small puzzles and even a gigantic puzzle for the little ones. We have an array of puzzles to challenge your puzzling skills.
