In accordance with the State law, The University of West Alabama Bookstore will be self supporting. I. Goals and Other Outcomes/Objectives, with Any Related Measures, Targets, Findings, and Action Plans A. Objective: Maintain appropriate inventory and services The Bookstore will maintain appropriate inventory and services to accomplish its mission. a. Measure: Survey of students will indicate satisfaction The Student Satisfaction Survey will be administered by the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and will be used to measure outcome success. 1. Achievement Target: 80% of students responding to the Student Satisfaction Survey will indicated satisfaction with the University of West Alabama Bookstore. 2. Findings (2011-2012) - Target: Partially Met The 2011 and 2012 report indicates that 60% of our students were satisfied with the Bookstore. However, 37.1% respondents had no comments. The Bookstore hopes to meet the goal of 80% next year because students will be able to charge textbooks to their Financial Aid Refund. 3. Action Plans: Charge Textbooks to Financial Aid Refund If a student will receive a refund after all bills are paid, they will be able to charge textbooks to their account before a check is issued. This will be helpful to freshmen because they must wait 30 days before they receive a refund check. This will allow them to have their textbooks for the first day of class. Online students will also be able to charge their textbooks. Established in Cycle: 2011-2012 Implementation Status: Planned Priority: High Implementation Description: This will be implemented by our IT Staff and Business Office. Projected Completion Date: 08/06/2012 Responsible Person/Group: Mamie Reed and Lee Walker

A. What specific strengths did your assessments show? (Strengths) The Bookstore’s assessment showed that 37.1% of the student did not have a positive or negative opinion about the store.

B. What specific weaknesses or challenges did your assessments show? (Weaknesses) The weakness shows that the Bookstore did not do as well as last year.

The Bookstore accquired as many used textbooks as possible to keep the cost down for our students.

D. How will assessment results be used for continuous improvement?

The Bookstore will continue to view our students’ opinion and meet their needs even though we are in competition with Rental Companies and other sources.
