AIESEC in Portugal
AIESEC in Portugal FactsAIESEC in Portugal was founded in 1959 being one of the oldest youth-run organizations
in the country.
AIESEC in Portugal has around 500 members, based on 9 different entities around 6
different cities. Delivering 367 life-changing exchange experiences in the past term, this
year we aim to deliver 599 exchanges.
With 16 State Universities, Portugal counts over 400.000 University level students, with
a big interest to go abroad and have an International Experience.

The Educational System recognizes us as a Youth Leadership development

MC Life
MC LifeSalary
All MC members receive a salary of 370€, monthy and enough to cover all expenses. With this salary
you’re expected to cover meals on working days, weekends and the MC flat utilities. Other expenses
involve going out, personal items and travel. General food suplies and transportation are very affordable in
Portugal!
HousingThe MC flat is located in the outskirts of Lisbon, being a 20 minutes metro ride to the MC office. Housing
is provided for MC members.
MC officeThe MC office is located at Rua do Quelhas, at ISEG University. It’s a wide space equiped with Internet,
heat and all the office supplies required. There’s also low-cost places to have meals around the office.
HolidaysAll MC members are granted 22 days of vacation during the term, according to the Portuguese law.
Concrete dates need to be authorized by the MCP. Each MC VP is also entitled to have 7 days for personal
development which includes opportunities to be FACI or Chair at International Conferences.
Representation travels to National and International Conferences will not be counted as vacations.
ConferencesAll MC members are expected to attend all National Conferences, with the fee and transportation covered
by the MC budget. Travel costs and conference fees for International conferences will also be covered
(number of MC members attending International Conferences will still be decided).
WorkloadThe MC term requires full-commitment as a full-time job. On average, you can expect 45 hours per week,
which can be higher around special events and lower in calmer periods. Working week goes from Monday
to Friday, being Saturday and Sunday rest days.

General InformationAIESEC in Portugal 15.16 term officialy starts on the 1st of July 2015 until the 30th of June 2016.
All MC members are expected to fully attend transition, starting on April 2015.

The first salary will be provided at the end of July, and the MC members are expected to cover their living
expenses until then.
Application ProcessDeadline for applications is 22nd of February, 23.59 GMT (Portugal)
Applications will NOT be accepted if:
The application package is incomplete;
The application package is sent out of the deadline;
The questions were not fully answered;
The format of the documents is different to the one clearly stated.
It’s HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to send the applications at least one day before the deadline.

The MC Team will be composed by 9 full-time core MC members and part-time members that will be
selected afterwards.
Currently, only Finance & Legal, OD and TM positions are opened. International applicants can apply to the
positions, except MC VP Finance and Legal which is only opened for Portuguese speaking applicants.

All questions must be answered, not exceeding a maximum of 10 pages. The CV should have a
maximum of 1 page. Overall, you should have 11 pages maximum + cover. The format is PDF.

4. Endorsement LettersAll endorsement letters should be submitted in separate PDF files.
3. Presentation VideoA vídeo presenting yourself, your experience and main strategies. It should not exceed 4 minutes
and should be uploaded to youtube. You should then submit the vídeo link in the package in 1 PDF
file.

Election ProcessAll candidates for MC will be required to go through the following stepsduring the General Assembly on the 8th of March:
Accepting their nomination;
Opening Speech – 10 minutes in English;
Q&A;
Closing Speech – 2 minutes in English;
NoteApart from time restriction, no other restriction is defined concerning speeches, this means that
you can let your creativity free.
International candidates should be present through Skype all day and ensure a good internet
connection.
All the process will be held in English, independently of the nationality of the candidate.
Candidates with Vote of Confidence will go through an assessment center between9th and 17th of March.
Final announcement will be made latest on 18th of March.
You are applying to be MC VP of AIESEC in Portugal. Your personal preferences will betaken into account, but the final allocation will be decided by the MCP.

7. Identify 4 key trends that are shaping the external environment of AIESEC in Portugal, outlining 3 strategies to

8. Taking into account the Leadership Development Model, in your opinion what is the characteristic (Self-
Awareness, World Citizen, Solution-driven, Empowering others) that is the most crucial to develop in the Portuguese
Youth? Why?
9. Conduct a SWOT Analysis of AIESEC in Portugal 14.15 and evaluate the organizational performance of AIESEC in
Portugal for the past 3 terms (2012/2013, 2013/2014, 2014/2015), taking from each term one BCP and one KLP.
