Students in 2/3S enjoyed creating paper tear artwork to represent a growing flower garden. Each student used a variety of colours, patterns, crayons, and creative freedom to portray a growing flower. We discussed the necessity of nurturing a garden to grow and develop, and how this symbolises our own growth. This coming week we will be utilising our beautiful school yard to begin fieldwork for our science unit, where we will discover the needs and features of living things in our environment.

Meet Mrs Watson’s pets. Matilda is a 13 year old German Shepherd/Labrador cross. She loves going to the beach and paddling in the waves. If we go anywhere close to where her lead is kept, she starts to do little jumps in anticipation of going in the car to the beach. Chookie came to us in an unusual way. She flew in to our backyard with a rooster and two other hens but then went away again. A few days later she came back on her own and has stayed ever since. Chookie has been with us for a few years now. ICAS is an independent, skills-based assessment program which recognises and rewards student achievement. ICAS is unique, being the most comprehensive generally available suite of academic assessments for primary and secondary school students. Letters will go home this week for those students in Years 3-6 that are interested in sitting the 2017 ICAS assessments Toormina District Swimming Carnival will be held on Tuesday 28th February.
