ATMOS 84 YEARSFamily company ATMOS was established in Bohemia in 1935 by Jaroslav Cankař senior.

In the beginning, the production was focused on gasification unitsfor cars and ships with a trademark of DOKOGEN. They used thesame principle as that used for modern ATMOS boilers run onwood.

In 1942, the company started development and production of compressors Atmos that were exported to the entire world untilnationalisation. Even after nationalisation, the production of wood‐fuel boilers, gasification sets and compressors was stillrunning.

In 1980, the company presented at Pragoterm exhibition its firstgasification boilers burning log wood and wood waste.

In 1985 the development was focused on gas generators for carsor ships engines and also development of wood gasification boilers.

Company ATMOS was re‐establihed in 1991 by Jaroslav Cankař junior who started with hie father the production of boilers. It wasenabled by changes in the political system in the Czech Republic.By intensive development of new products, production expansion,buying and implementing of modern technologies companyATMOS has become one of the biggest manufacturesof gasification boilers in Europe. To this day, the company has developed over 140 types of hot‐water boilers with 15 pending patents. One of the first boilers was EKONOMIK developed in 1962.

Actually, three generations of the Cankař family are working on supplying the European market with quality boilers that are environment friendly and energy saving.

The boilers are exported into 49 countries. The annual productioncapacity is 60 000 pieces of boilers.

ATMOS D 10 PX, D 15 PX, D 20 PX and D 25 PX hot-water boilers are designed for convenient heating of family houses,holiday homes and other buildings withpellets. Their compact solution enablesinstallation in small boiler rooms.

For the heating you can use high-qualitywooden pellets with the diameter of 6 to8 mm. The boiler is not intended for burning of wood, sawdust and minorwood waste.

USAGE

Boilers D 10 PX, D 15 PX, D 20 PX and D 25 PXare supplied as a complete plant with a built-in conveyor, pellet reservoir with the volumeof 65, 175 and 215 l and ATMOS A25 pellet burner. They are designed for electronicallycontrolled burning of pellets with automatic ignition of fuel. The pellet burner is incorpora-ted into the front part of the boiler in the doorof the lower combustion chamber. This cham-ber is also used as an area for ash.

The boiler body is made as a weldment of steelsheets with the thickness of 3 – 5 mm. It con-sists of the combustion chamber with ceramicshaped bricks for ideal flame burn out withhigh efficiency.

A tube exchanger with a segmental decele-rators with function of rough (operation) cleaning without necessity of taking them out is placed in the back part of the boiler. Theboiler body is insulated from the outside withmineral felt located under the sheet-metal covers of the outer boiler jacket.

A fuel reservoir from which the pellets aretransported to the burner by a screw conveyoris located in the top part. Fuel supply is control-led fully automatically.

In the front part of the boiler there is a panelwith the main switch, the switch of the pelletburner (L2), an operation (control) thermostat,a safety thermostat, a thermometer and a 6.3 A fuse.

The boiler is not equipped with a cooling loopagainst overheating as thanks to the smallquantity of fuel in the burner there is no risk ofboiler overheating in case of a power supply fa-ilure. Boilers DxxPX is equiped with exhaustfan.

For the heating you can use high-quality wooden pellets with the diameter of 6 to 8 mmand lenght 5 – 25 mm. Quality pellets arethose made from soft wood without bark. Theare usually called white pellets.

MODELS D 14 P – D 21 P – D 25 P – D 31 P

The boilers are designed as welded body withbig burning chamber. The burner is fit to theleft or right side with pellet conveyor. There is a large ash pan in the bottom part of the boiler. The inner top parts of burning chamberis made of tube heat exchangers with turbula-tors. The rear part of boiler contains flue waychannel with connection to chimney. BoilersD31P contain exhaust ventilator. The top panelcontains all controll elements and allows instal-lation of electronic regulation.

Heating with pellets with the use of the ATMOSA25 pellet burner has a lot in common with natural gas or oil heating. However, there is a difference that burning of pellets produces a certain quantity of ashes that must be remo-ved from the burner and boiler in an intervalto avoid impairment of efficiency or affectingthe functionality of the burner.

The ATMOS A25 and A45 pellet burners aresupplied with automatic fuel ignition as stan-dard. The assembly of the burner, external conveyor and fuel bin work completely automatically during operation and is control-led by an electronic control unit with the useof a flame sensor (photocell). In the burnerbody the fuel and combustion air are suppliedin such a way to ensure maximum efficiencyand environment-friendliness of fuel burning.

Only high-quality pellets with the diameter of6 to 8 mm and length of 5 to 25 mm should be fed into the burner. Pellets made of softwood without bark, called white pellets, areconsidered as high quality pellets.

Ashes are normally removed from the burnerthrough the open door once every 7 to 30 daysas necessary. It is recommended to thoroughlyclean the inner parts of the burner once a year; for this operation the burner should be removed from the boiler. For ideal cleaningof the combustion chamber (pot) of the burneryou can use a special vacuum cleaner or a poker.

As an accessorie for every boiler pellet boileryou can buy automatic ash cleaner/removerfrom boiler to added external ash pan. Theautomatic ash cleaner/remover does not needany special attendance and increases comfor-table use of boiler.

The boiler is cleaned automasticaly by theauger conveyor with gearbox. It cleans the ashspace in the boiler in regular intervals. Carefullychoose the capacity of the ash pan based onash content and the used fuel.

All three volumes of ash bin 28, 68 and 135 litres is able to use in any boiler.

The hot water boilers ATMOS D 20 P, D 30 P, D 40 P, D 50 P and D 80 P are designed for convenient heating with pellets in residentialhouses.

A pellet burner with a conveyor is fitted to theleft or right side of the boiler. The boiler drumis manufactured as a welded structure of 3 – 6mm thick steel sheets. The burning chamber is

in its lower part equipped with cast iron grillfor easy and ash cleaning with ash bin under.Above the boiler door of D 20 P, D 30 P, D 40 P,D 50 P and D 80 P boilers there is tube heat exchanger fitted with brush air turbulators and in the rear part of boiler you can find suction ventilator. These all serves for clear andperfect cleaning from ash.

The burning chamber is fitted with a heat-proof shaped piece for ideal burning with highefficiency and for easy cleaning.

At the top of boiler you can find a controllpanel with regulating things for controll of theboiler and heating system.

CONSTRUCTION OF THE BOILERThe boiler drum is manufactured as a weldedstructure of three chambers. The boiler’s uppersection which comprises of two chambers forburning wood or coal as known from standardgasification boilers delivered on market. separate from each other by water jacket andthey do not influence each other. There is a vertical combustion gas duct in the back of theboiler body and the gas outlet pipe for connec-ting to chimney. The boiler requires connectionto one chimney.

FUNCTIONThe line of KOMBI boilers allows burning woodon a principle of gasification principle in combination with pellet burner or Extra LightFuel Oil burner. The boiler allows switchingbetween both fuels.

If needed the boiler can be bough first withoutburner which can be later added of used fromprevious boiler.

USAGEThe environmentally friendly boilers ATMOS C 18 SP and C 25 SP are designed for domesticheating using pellets and coal. Boilers are suitable for buildings with heat loss rangingbetween 5 – 25 kW. Good quality pellets of 6 – 8 mm diameter andcoal (size 1) may be used for heating. As a spare fuel (for firing up) can be used split logwood of 330 mm lenght.

FUNCTIONThe new line of KOMBI CxxSP boilers allows controlled burning of pellets in a pellet burnerand gasification of coal based on the generatorgasification principle. The boiler allows switching between bothfuels. If needed the boiler can be bough firstwithout burner which can be later added ofused from previous boiler.

Combined boiler for wood and oil (ELTO – Extra Light Oil) have marking L at the end (e.g. DC 18 SPL).

DCxxSP and CxxSP boilers and burners in version Model 2018 are equipped with thefunction of automatic closing or opening of theair supply to the boiler/burner (using the actuator) when heating with wood or pellets.

The boilers are equipped with an AGF2 (TSV)flue gas sensor and a KTF20 (TK) boiler watertemperature sensor for function of automaticburner start after the wood burns out. Else the boilers are equipped with two KTF20sensors (TV and TS) KTF20 for controlling the burner with two temperatures on the accumulation tank. The whole set is sold in themaximum range, for fully automatic mode andsimple plug and play installation.

The pneumatic pellet feeding APS 250, APS500, APS 250 S are designed as a compact device used for comfortable supply of pelletsto the boiler from a large tank placed outsidethe boiler room.Such tank is located within empty storageareas inside or outside the building heated.Tanks frequently have the form of textile silosthat are easy and fast to install.

The function of the burner is displayedon the display of the electronic regulation.

SILO FOR PELLETS

AZPD/AZPU 240 – a set of 240 l silo with conveyor DRA25 – 1,3/1,7 m which is suitablefor small boiler rooms. It allows placing besidethe boiler to cover small place. The 240 litresilo contains 156 kg of pellets which providesenergy of about 700 kWh (10 bags).

The smallest size silo suitable for all boilers designed for smaller boiler-roomswhere we can not use bigger silo type. It contains 163 kg of pellets which meansapproximatly 730 kWh (10 bags).

The middle size silo suitable for all boilersdesigned for smaller boiler-rooms wherewe can not use bigger silo type. It contains 325 kg of pellets which meansapproximatly 1463 kWh (21 bags).

The biggest size silo. It contains 650 kg of pelletswhich means approximatly 2925 kWh (43 bags).

AZPD/AZPU 400 – a set of 400l silo with conveyorDRA25 – 1,3 m which is suitable for small boilerrooms. it allows placing beside the boiler to coversmall place. The 400 litre silo contains 260 kg of pellets which provides energy of about 1170 kWh(17 bags).

AZPD 300 – a set of 300l silo withconveyor DRA25 – 1,3 m which is suitable for small boiler rooms. It allows placing beside the boiler to cover small place. The 300 litre silo contains 195 kg of pellets which provides energy of about 880 kWh(13 bags).

The silos are manufactured in three basic sizesfor maximum usable volume of 4,5, 5,5 and 6,7 m3. The silo type or frequency of refilling inthe heating season is easy to be set accordingto the basic rule: 1 kW of the needed outputof the heat source = 0.5 m3 (325 kg) of pellets/ year.
