Introduction

My respected course instructor Md. Abul Khayer has instructed me to carry on report which is an important requirement for the course. The problem statement was “EMBA Students' satisfaction of University of Dhaka”. I am assigned to find out the level of satisfaction among the students of EMBA of this university. I am served by proper direction and theories to conduct a report.

MethodologyThe areas of importance in terms of methodology are:

Report Design

This is a descriptive research. Because I know my objective is satisfaction and I want to

know the level of satisfaction.

Limitations

The principle limitation of the report is the time constraints. It requires problem

identification, sample selection, market analysis, data analysis, data evaluation and

interpretation through various numerical and statistical techniques and packages, and finally

presents an understandable report to the audience. Conducting report is very difficult for time

constraints.

Data collection

The primary data source was the principal methodology used for this report. 50

questionnaires were prepared based on demographic factors of respondents (like: age, sex,

department of study) and several factors considered important for satisfaction measurement.

The factors are: class timing, duration and day, (not Friday) teaching procedures, capacity of

teachers, scoring procedures, financial aid, co-operation from office staff, physical

infrastructure (washroom), canteen facilities, cultural affairs, Student counseling security

Utility service, Study room, help from Administration, advising services and career

counseling Service etc.

Secondary resource

I have used the book “Research Methodology” by William G. Zikmund, websites and

journals.

Sample Design

The target population was all the EMBA students of the university. But through random

sampling method, I have identified 50 students to observe. I have made the sample size 50 to

have ease in calculation.

Fieldwork

I myself worked to collect the data from students mostly from IB department and few from

other departments

Analysis

The scaling method was “Likert scale”, 5 point numerical scale and simple category rating

scale. For calculation and graphical representation, MS- EXCEL is used.

Results

My report is to identify the satisfaction condition among the students of EMBA of

University. The satisfaction level based on different parameter is outlined below:

University Itself

The first and the foremost factor is the university itself. They feel happy that they are students

of Dhaka University.

Overall Satisfaction level

The overall satisfaction describes how much a student is satisfied considering all the factors

which are used in satisfaction measurement. The result is positive. 48 percent of the

respondents are satisfied with the students and rest of all has mixed response. And only 7

percent is highly dissatisfied and only 1 percent is highly satisfied.

Findings and Recommendations

I recommend the following factors to be taken care off to improve the satisfaction level:

Classes may be scheduled for Fridays

Career Counseling Centre for EMBA should be set up.

Residential facilities may be started

Transportation may be started for EMBA students

Conclusion

“Knowledge is nothing without understanding” and a good understanding always makes us

satisfied. The satisfaction scenario among the EMBA students of the University is positive,

which means they are satisfied but much more attention is needed on the factors where they

are still dissatisfied. My report with this decision that overall satisfaction is good and

university can initiate to change the observation recommended in the report. Further study

also can help the university to improve the image of EMBA and increase the proportion of

satisfaction among the students in near future.
