Cross Country TeamSign up for the 2016 Cross Country Team has begun. Looking for a sport to join next year? Do you like running? The boys and girls cross country team is now recruiting new runners for next year’s team. Cross country is a sport that involves long distance running. All races are 5K (3.1 miles long). Most cross country runners also compete on the track team in the spring. The cross country season begins August 1st and runs through the end of October. Summer conditioning practice will be announced soon. Contact Coach Hoge at [email protected] or stop by room 50 in building 1.

Another Successful BCHS Wrestling Season Comes to an End This year’s wrestling team had a solid outing, going 22-10 overall for the season. The team was real young this year; we only had 4 returning seniors. Some of the highlights were senior Darquell Pierre breaking Jacob Mohr’s school record for most career wins with 128. Darquell also set the single season record for most wins in a season with 46. Senior Sadrick Daniel pinned the #6 ranked wrestler in the state to increase his stock. As a team, we tied Venice High School in a team dual 42-42. Venice is ranked 5th in the state in 2A. Overall the season was a great success. This is our 4th winning season in a row and we are a top 5 team in the county. We made the Tampa Bay Times list for the top 20 Bay area teams, which include Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, and Pinellas Counties. The culminating event will be when Sadick and Darquell both sign with Kansas Wesleyan University. Both have received substantial offers. They will both wrestle for the Coyotes and major in Criminal Justice.
