Board turns page, welcomes new trustees LINDSAY, ON – Trillium Lakelands District School Board turned a new page Tuesday night when the Board of Trustees met for its annual organizational meeting. Four new faces joined the Trustee table following the municipal election last month: Bruce Reain represents Huntsville and Lake of Bays, Judith Hayes is the Trustee for City of Kawartha Lakes Wards 5, 9, and 11; John Byrne will look after City of Kawartha Lakes Wards 2, 3, 6, and 7, and Gary Brohman takes the helm for Haliburton. As well, two trustees changed spots in Muskoka – Louise Clodd moved to Gravenhurst, Muskoka Lakes, Georgian Bay and Tony Armstrong took over the role in the Town of Bracebridge. "Any change in the Board of Trustees brings a new energy and point of view to the Board," said Director of Education Larry Hope, who has met individually with each new trustee since the election. "I'm very excited about the way this Board of Trustees will evolve." Trustees were sworn-in during the December 7 Board Meeting. As well, Trustee Karen Round was acclaimed Chairperson, and Trustee Louise Clodd was elected Vice-Chairperson. Trustee Judy Saunders will continue, after acclamation, as Past Chairperson. Trustees attended an orientation and have spent a day in Barrie becoming familiar with their roles and responsibilities. Photos of each Trustee, and of groups of Trustees, are available upon request.
